I’m sure this has been discussed in the past, but I’m not able to find it.
Example: 2018 cbs, parabola, bcbs, Bigfoot etc... sitting on shelves. Do knowledgeable people buy these? I can’t decide because they age well, but a store shelf isn’t properly cellaring.
    Thanks for input.

I'd make the choice based on the circumstances. I pick up some old stuff from two places near me that keep everything refrigerated. I also always check the discount rack at a big grocery store that I pass a couple times a year, everytime I've been to that store, whether it's 100 degrees or 30 degrees outside, it's always cool which leads me to believe that its similar to basement storage. If it was a shelf in a store in fresno or somewhere where the inside of the store likely reaches into the 70s/80s at some point in the year I would be much more hesitant

I do seek out older beer sitting on shelves. I have purchased 10-year old beer that has been sitting for quite some time. You never really know how it has been stored, but it's sometimes worth a shot. Bigfoot, IMO, would taste great even if stored in warmer-than-normal conditions. This is based on experience. It just speeds up the aging process, which is great for this beer. Bourbon County, Parabola, and CBS - maybe not. These don't necessarily get better with age, so they likely taste similar or worse than fresh.
