That beer is older than half the guys on this site. Either seriously great or vinegar, I'd drink it, unless it's being held as a novelty.

To nc41, thanks for the quote, this reply is not to defend the beer nor prove myself, however, Bigfoot does age extremely well although I can't speak for the 1984 (recently) since I haven't had a bottle since 1988 -- that event was with Michael Jackson in Baltimore, MD, while eating ChesBay crabs! I also have numerous bottles of 1986 and other vintage years. I can definitely speak to the 1986 -- absolutely amazing beer. I sample one bottle approximately every 2-3 years just to check up on the ole girl.

Props to maximum self control and aging your brews, I can't do it though. I love fresh Bigfoot, love the silky hops. I'm a lousy ager.

Don't have any in my cellar. Oldest I've tried is 1992 if I remember right. It was barely drinkable. I'd say 5 years or less is best for Bigfoot.

That said, I'm not even a big fan of it fresh.

That's a great deal, but at that price I would be concerned about the environment the bear lived in before you brought it to your home. Was it housebroken? Is it ill tempered? You may be saving money up front, but the medical bills you are more than likely going to generate from bear-related injuries will cost you a lot more in the long run.

If anything, this thread has reminded me not to drink any of the Bigfoots I'm presently hoarding. My wife will not be pleased.

Luckily I was assured by Bottleworks that none of their beer has been used in beer fighting. Also, they are proud members of PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Ales).

I just cracked a 2001 vintage with Thanksgiving dinner tonight.
    Delicious.
The hops defiantly faded long ago to give way to malts and dark fruits, toffee, caramel.

Older at I've ever had? A mid-90s one, it was definitely dimured, muted former version of itself. Prompted me to give away the oldest of my small clutch when I moved- 2000-2004, now I think the oldest I have is 2012, which reminds me I need to drink those now before they fade.
