OMB to release Hornet's Nest Hefeweizen

    The Olde Mecklenburg Brewery will release its Hornet's Nest Hefeweizen on Friday, May 10 at 5:30 at the Brauhaus. The authentic German hefeweizen was poured just once before, in a single batch release, but sold out in days. The brewery will relent to seemingly constant demand for a second run Friday, re-releasing a style Beer Advocate calls, "One sexy looking beer." We agree...hope to see some of our fellow beer advocates there.

    I was fortunate to have it last year, and I honestly thought it stood head-to-shoulders with some of the world's best hefeweizens. I look forward to trying it again this year.
