I'm going to Ommegang's weekend bed and breakfast deal thing. This is my first time. Has anyone gone to these before, or are going this weekend, and if so how are they? Also, any places worth checking out on the ride up? I'm leaving out of Long Island.
I've gone. Had a really great time and still talk to someone we met that weekend and that was a while ago. If they are still doing it the same way, the bottle share the first night was really fun and the dinner the second night was quality.
while your there, go to butternuts and cooperstown brewing.. i did this a few month's ago.. left out of LI also.. Mark the owner of the INN is such a great guy.. him and his wife alone made the trip worth it.. the first night there is a bottle share.. dont make the same mistake we did.. bring some awesome beer and good beer.. see what people are putting out then decide from there.. or just be awesome and put everything out!.. cause it will all go!.. you can take a detour on the way back and go to keegan and 1/2 time beverage in kingston also
Have been twice- both very good experiences. You will get a fair amount of good food and a lot of very good beer. On our first trip- about 4 years ago there was way too much of everything. Last trip, 2 years ago, things were dialed back to more reasonable amounts. Alex & Ika is a good choice for food & drinks and very close to the inn.
