I like how people freak out like a case is some unfathomable amount of a single beer....the overwhelming majority of beer is sold in 6-pack or 12-pack formats!!!!

People acting like 12 bottles of the same beer is overkill are dumb. If you like a beer, drinking 1-2 a week for the next 6 weeks seems pretty damn reasonable if "its just beer." If you are putting it on a pedestal and saying it can only be drank at special occasions you are part of the problem, not the solution. I am absolutely against asking strangers and paying homeless people to get you beer, but if you have friends willing to go and give up the beer (they are crazy) more power to you. I'll take my bottle and my wife's when I can make it down there and wish I had more, but its just beer in the end.

I do not know a single beer that is sold in 6 packs when there are only 2k-3k bottles made.

While, you may have a point, it is not really comparable.

Many beers though, in the same 1-2k bottles made range, are sold 2+ per person. (Tired Hands?)

I have no issue with the current rules(I think we will see higher bottle limits on bigger batches), but many small breweries release a beer with the expectation that it will sell out that day. I appreciate that Jester King avoids some of these crazy events with lower bottle limits, and allows us not have to fight crazy lines at every release. Kudos!

Do I want more than 1? Yes (I think most people do)
Is it easy to get more than one if you you have friends or family living near by? Yes
Do I, or anyone, need or deserve any amount of beer, even a single one? No
Are they making larger quantities, more varieties, and more often? YES!!!

The system seems to be working fine.... JK seemed to smack down the fools who were going through the line multiple times. I didnt really see anyone complaining about the 1-bottle rule. They just said they wanted more. Whats wrong with that?

I dont understand the folks who seem to think its a crime to want more than a single bottle...

It would appear that people want the beer to last more then one weekend and enjoy it being mostly hassle free when buying their beer. A one bottle limit provides this, however, people also want more then one bottle if they are going to go through the trouble of going to JK. If JK increases the limit one problem would be solved but another would be created.

I think the issue here is that there is no winning for JK because people complain about anything. We complain about choosing to stand in line to buy a special beer (when it's not JK's fault the person in front wants to try on all the shirts), then we complain about the beer selling out too fast (lower bottle limit), then we complain about not being able to buy enough beer.

At the end of the day we vote with our money. If you think it's not worth it to drive to Austin for one bottle then don't do it. They have had beers in the past that sat longer then they thought they would and they increased the bottle limit to get them out.

It amazes me how every JK thread becomes a festival of complaints. If they ran every release like almost every other brewery bottles would sell out that day and we would spend the whole time in line waiting to buy beer. So I guess it's basically give or take, you can have it one way or the other, not both. I guess you just have to choose what is more important to you.

JK's tasting room menu doesn't list OM for this weekend. I wonder if that's a typo.

The beer isn't going anywhere that quick.

I'm not going to use Google maps for you, but basically you're going to get on 71/270 and head west, taking the left split at the fork until you see a sign that says Jester King and follow the back road.

über or find a local if you don't want to rent a car.

Maybe you should read the part that says "without a car."

Uber or Lyft should be options, but will be expensive. Might be cheaper to rent a car for a day, or just see if any locals are going out who you can hook a ride with.

Damn this beer was super juicy on draft. I can't wait to try it out from the bottle. Last bottle that I had of the first blend was pretty sour, as it was a while after the release and the fruit wasn't as pronounced. I wonder if it was the same base beer on the first blend

Yes. Das Uberkind was the base beer for both blends. - Jeff

It was not crowded out there at all this last weekend, I am guessing it will be much the same this weekend.

I have no concept why Fen Tao was such a cluster#### and then these are just breezes. Oh well. I am going out there once this weekend and hoping to make it one time the following week.
