On Tap in the Twin Cities (2022)

Anyone else drinking anything worth sharing about in the Twin Cities? I’m back in town for the rest of the week.

 

collaboration between Barrel Theory and Steel Toe recently released called Finally (Hazy IPA). 12oz cans is mighty fine.

 

Northern Taphouse Plymouth has the forementioned Cantillon 'Kriek 100% Lambic Bio', along with Mortalis 'Eos' stout, Odd Side 'Rye Hipster Brunch' stout, The Veil 'Mountain' IPA, a couple of Bearded Iris IPAs, and Schells 'Octoberfest'.

 

If I didn't live on the other side of the Cities there'd be a maximum12 size buttprint on one of the bar stools four or five days a week. Killer lineup.

How did they manage to do that?

I've had Jester King at one of the beer shows at the convention center a handful of years ago. Cool to see them there.

 

Steel Toe had 2017 Lunker on tap last night. Anyone who loves barleywines should be there.

 

Just because I don't recall (*) ever seeing this on tap before, I'll mention that 3 Squares in Maple Grove has Founders Ultimate Oktoberfest on tap. For unknown reasons the menu calls it an Imperial Stout (as of 9/15) but it's actually a bourbon barrel aged Marzen clocking in at about 10%.

"barrel aged Marzen" is never going to become a go-to style for me but it was well worth trying once.

(*) If it's been everywhere in the Twin Cities for the last ten years and I'm just ignorant, let me wallow in my ignorance.

 

With Ansari's, Turtle's in Shakopee and Northern Taphouse (former Grizzly's) in Plymouth have some Jester King beers on.

 

Thread bump .. Not tap brews .. Fresh 4 PKS of Cafe Deth ,Deth’s Tar ,Abrasive and Bauhaus/Hammerheart collaboration Schwarzbear FW Anv 26 In stores . Oh and 16 Grit on tap at Surly.

 

I've been looking for the Schwarzbear, any sightings on the St. Paul side? Most of my regular stores on the east side carry very little Bauhaus.

 

Saw some at Ale Jail on Friday.

 

I got some at 7th Street Liquor Barrel this last Thursday, just as it came off the truck. Not sure how much they had coming in-handed it to me from the back room.

 

Town Hall Tap has 6 Hour Tour and Mango Mama on tap this week.

 

Their website must be way outdated. I was just browing a few places for this weekend and those weren't listed...now I'm interested.

 

It was for Town Halls 25 anniversary week. This was at location on 48th and Chicago,not sure what other locations are doing. Unknown how long 6HT will last.

 

Not Tap ..BA Speedway Stout/ Vietnamese coffee ‘22 on shelves, (pricey) Twin cities.

 

I saw it (but did not purchase) for $8 I believe. What price did you see?
