There is one fairly local brewery and a few bigger brands that I've tried that were very average. I guess I wouldn't spend any more money on their stuff unless I heard a lot good things from members here. I think the heads up you get here about different beers is one of my favorite aspects of this site.

Never had a one and done..always gonna be misses eventually..even from the best breweries..but the 2 breweries that i found to be average at best were Evil Twin and Left Hand..had 5 or 6 from each and none was any better than ok

I always try at least 2-3 different styles from a brewery before avoiding them completely. Some I have given more chances than that and always regretted it. I'm a slow learner when it comes to beer (because ticking).

Yes, it's happened...actually a few days ago. I tried a beer at a brewery I hadn't been to before. It wasn't awful but not that good either. Won't go back again. There's only so much time and there are better beers out there.

If the beer is just a mediocre representative of the style I'll give them a few tries before completely writing them off. But one or two infected beers and I'll avoid your brewery like the plague.

I'm more likely to give up on a brewery is they screw up a big beer. Like a DIPA that is a syrupy mess.

Closest I have come is Buffalo Bill's Brewery Orange Blossom Cream Ale. To be honest, it is only one of their beers I have seen in my area, but that beer was so bad I won't be looking to buy their beer anytime soon.

I've never had those but if they are of the artificial trendy kind, i don't blame you.

It's highly unlikely I would write off a brewery just from one beer. I usually like to try ~3 from a brewery before making a decision, though there are factors that can change that. A good example of this is price- if I dislike 2 beers from a brewery who's selling their beers for $10/12oz bottle, they are likely never getting my money again. I'm more likely to snag a widely available/cheaper brew, even if I haven't had the greatest luck with said brewer.

I don't think quality has ever caused me to do a one and done. However, I have had a few beers from Trafalgar Ales and Meads in Ontario and I don't need to try any more of their products.

Abita, DuClaw, Flying Dog, Magic Hat, etc. Why are they in business? Because consumers don't realize they have better options.

Flying Dog. Labels are so whacked out and beers are so blah...not sure what I drank or didn't drink, but not willing to continue down that dark hole.

Anything from Mobcraft in Madison. Think of a shitty beer you've had - whatever style. Now water it down and you have Mobcrafts version of the style!

I was up in Vermont and had a couple - Alchemy or something and Head Farmhill or something like that. Terrible - I'll never try anything from there again.

    Just kidding.

Seriously, it takes more than a one and done for me... it has to be pretty consistently bad for me to swear off a beer.
Shipyard I have give more chances than they really deserve - just can't deal with that butterscotchy diacetyl bomb thing they have.
White Birch is another - had a decent one, then some bad ones, then a decent one, then some bad ones... I just won't buy their stuff anymore, even though the owner is a really nice guy, and does believe in himself and the beers.
There are others that do make good to great beers, but are beyond my pricing - Mikkeller, Evil Twin, a few others, so I just don't buy them, regardless.

I had their Warlock imperial pumpkin stout and had the same reaction - sickeningly sweet and obnoxiously spiced. Any brewer who deems that beer drinkable clearly isn't on the same wavelength as me enough to earn any more of my cash. Also, not sure if Natty Bo makes anything besides that flagship, but I hate that beer too much to want it ever again, or anything else by them.
