Is it for 500 BA's or for 500 beer drinkers? Don't change the finishing line or mislead with the thread title.

If it were a wedding or a concert, how about Founders All Day IPA. It's super flavorful, and it's low abv should keep a mass of people from acting like a bunch of drunk morons.

If it's a FEMA roundup, screw what everyone else wants and make with the '10 KBS!!!

If I had one beer to select for 500 people, not just Beer Advocates I would choose Great Divide Denver Pale Ale. If it was just Beer Advocates I would select kegs of fresh Odell Mountain standard. Hoppy, great mouthfeel, dark malts, easy drinking, and sessionable minus the sessionablity Kinda hits a lot of different tastes minus the belgians, yeasty heffe notes, and american strong ales. A satisfier this beer is.

Great choice. Haven't met anyone that didn't like hefeweizens yet, and this is one of the best.

But that's the Illinois Burgemeister (note- no "r") - wouldn't a Bay Area guy prefer the local Burgermeister?

(Granted, the OP's in OK, so they're both whales to him).

Altho' I've always liked their later "Burgie!" mascot a little more than the Burgermeister himself. Just because it was so damn strange. Who sees it and thinks, "Yeah, I wanna drink THAT guy's beer!"

Just did this for 50 people. We had little choice in the area. Went with SN pale ale, NB dig and fat tire. SN went over well and a few folks commented that they really liked it but would never have made the purchase on their own. We turned a few on to the start of their craft experience.

    Enjoy

Sorry to be a buzzkill but have you ever read any of the really bad reviews of Devil Dancer. It seems that Summit hops don't agree with everyone. The onion and garlic taste is good for chips. For beer, not so much.

I would have to say Two Hearted

Great thread! So many beers to choose for this. Zombie Dust and Heady Topper might be great picks. But I'm going to pick Rum Barrel Aged Hunahpu!

I agree with Two Hearted. Not sure how any beer drinker would not like Two Hearted. I have never had Zombie Dust but it would seem to be a great choice as well.
