I've always thought it was just a rebranding. but I'm not informed by any solid info or anything. I can't say I noticed a difference when doing a side by side, drinking the my last of the old label and fresh new label.

Maybe i'll ask them if i decide to drop by for a growler fill later.

The very first Victory Lager was branded as Victory Brandywine Valley Lager and it was more like a Dortmunder Export. Over a period of years they dropped the "Brandywine Valley" part of the label.

A few years ago (5?) they decided to change the Victory Lager to being a Helles vs. a Dortmunder Export. Just a year or so ago they changed the packaging to reflect that the 'new' Victory Lager was a Helles.

    Cheers!

    Edit: more info below:

“Originally known as Brandywine Valley Lager when it made its debut in 1996, this lager paid homage to Victory’s pristine water source, one of the four crucial ingredients in beer. The brand transformed into Victory Lager and is now rebranded as Victory Helles Lager marrying the preservation of the traditional German style and the critical water source.”

    Bummer.

Thanks dude. I was afraid you might say that. If there are any local breweries reading this, could you please get on that for me. Ok? Thanks!

Thanks for the timeline, Jack. The more I thought about it the more I remembered that the 'Lager' was reformulated some time ago, but then there was also a recent rebranding. Either way, it's been a really long time since I've had it, so a more recent reevaluation is in order.

    Michael,

I bought a 6-pack of the newly branded Victory Helles Lager a few months ago and I really enjoyed it. I discussed it on NBS: http://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/new-beer-sunday-week-522.261023/#post-3328772

    Cheers!

Happy birthday America. I think these would fit in a contest, and they're definitely American made...

I had the pleasure of drinking a number of Hill Farmstead beers earlier this evening. The beer that I thought was absolutely OUTSTANDING was Hill Farmstead Conduct of Life which was an APA. I had two pints of this beer. This is the beer I would 'vote' to represent America!

As I first posted to this thread I thought it would be a tough choice to select the specific brand of Hill Farmstead beer but I now know it.

Cheers to Hill Farmstead for making so many wonderful beers!!

Now now, let's not blame the firearms. But now that you mention it, why not call it "America, A Tradition of Brewing Psychopaths since 1776" And we can put all our wonderful suggestions into the ingredients.

I suppose on the basis of being elitist, or perhaps you're referring to it as the American Dream? where as in it is only available to a few people but everyone wants it.... This was the worst answer I have seen.
