A bit surprised nobody is mentioning the Farmhouse in Burlington, skip magic hat, and hit up the beer garden at the farmhouse and then take a walk down church street to Finnigans.

I made my first visit to Farmhouse on my posted trip! Awesome spot.

Another single-day trip I made this past week:

~Left home and headed up to the Whites. 8:30am run up Mt Hale, drove to Franconia Notch and ran up the Kinsmans. Drove back to Belmont to shower and then headed to concord to pick up shoes before heading to Dover to check out Garrison City Beerworks and join their running club for a nice "cooldown" pre-beer run. When Pigs Fly in Kittery for pizza and beer, then Whym in Portsmouth for a nightcap before heading back home. 301 miles, 1 brewery, 2 bars, 3 4000ft mountains, ~16 miles of running. A good day off from work, lol.

I'd second Farmhouse, can't miss if you're in Burlington anyway. And you can also walk a mile or two down Lake Champlain from downtown Burlington to Switchback. Would definitely recommend that as well, for proximity and a scenic walk if nothing else, but also they've put in a nice taproom there and their new IPA (new when I was there anyway) was fantastic. One of the better surprises of my trip.

Sounds like an awesome trip. I wish I had a couple more days and I would have tried to make it into Wisconsin or Michigan. If your going into the Black Hills you should check out Crows Peak in Spearfish, SD and Miner Brewing Co. in Hill City, SD. Both are worth stopping at if you get a chance. Also Wind Cave National Park is a pretty amazing non-beer stop.

Thanx for the suggestions. Spearfish is a little out of the way unless I decide to visit Devil's Tower but Hill City is kinda on the way to Mt. Rushmore, or I can make it on the way. Wind Cave is also a definite maybe.

I live in denver and would love to do a bike and brewery tour. Maybe just do one for each Boulder, Fort Collins, Denver. Maybe do a pro tour through the Mountains. Now I've got some Google-Mapsing to do.

No trip to Waterbury is complete without stopping at Blackback, in my experience the best tap list in town every time I've been around.

I don't think they've been mentioned yet but I liked Burlington Beer Co and Four Quarters in Winooski. Have failed to be impressed after any visit to VT pub and brewery. And as stated earlier and often I wouldn't return to Magic Hat..unbelievable how many different beers I've had of theirs without truly enjoying a single one...maybe the stout (heart of darkness)?

I've done about six or seven breweries/beer bars in Seattle several times just because they were close and hey, why not! This thread kinda makes me want to plan one. If I started early, I bet I could do 15 before I got arrested!
