I am cruising thru Madison, I know all about New Glarus but do not think we have time to stop there. Is NG plentiful in town? Anything else I should focus on for this far-too-short stop? Thanks!
No, NG is not plentiful in terms of things to do in town unfortunately. In Madison, hit Karben4, Ale Asylum, and I've heard great things about One Barrel but haven't been to that one.
Where abouts are you? Any of the Steve's liquor locations are sure stops, as well as Riley's downtown. New Glarus beer will be everywhere.
Hah, taking suggestions! We are nearing the state line now, no real plan except a desire to see Madison while cruising through.
Set your GPS for the Great Dane downtown (123 E. Doty Street Madison WI). There is a parking garage next to it. Have a beer at Great Dane and then walk around the Capitol. There are many bars and restaurants to check out there (Old Fashioned, Tipsy Cow, etc.) and some might have some stuff left over from the Great Taste Pre-Parties last night. Another suggestion is to park by Riley's Wines of the World. Brickhouse BBQ is next door and last night they had Central Waters, Shorts, and Hinterland tap takeovers. Should still be something good on. I saw they had Toppling Goliath PsuedoSue last night, not sure if they still have it. Roast Public House is a good place to get a sandwich in that area.
