Going to be splitting off from my travel partner this Sunday for a day and would like to take a day trip to
    Duesseldorf.

I would definitely like to take in some good pub food ant Alt beer.

Any suggestions where to enjoy a Sunday out experiencing the local culture, food and beer?

Zum Uerige, Schumacher, Füchschen or Schlüssel.

Here's a good article from the NY Times: http://www.nytimes.com/2013/11/03/travel/36-hours-in-dusseldorf-germany.html?pagewanted=all&_r=0

Let's see...depending on how much time you have, here's what I'd do for a day trip:

Pull into the Hbf. Walk from there to the Königsallee, and along "the Kö" to the Altstadt (or take an U-Bahn a few stops to Heinrich Heine Allee and go from there). Walk to Füchschen via the art museum and duck in to the art museum if that sounds like your thing. Hang out at Füchschen for an alt or two. Go from Füchschen down to Schumacher's place in the Altstadt (full disclosure, never been) for one. From there, walk along the river promenade to the TV tower and continue to the Gehry buildings. Take pictures. Walk back to the Altstadt and sit in Uerige, eating and drinking and taking in the atmosphere until it's time to go home. If time is short, skip all steps except that last one.

The 3rd Tuesday in October is Uerige's Sticke Tag, meaning they tap the Sticke and serve only that (well, plus a wheat) until it runs out. It's a good time.

Shouldn't it be AND rather than OR?
