Ok..here's the rundown on the whirlwind 1100+ mile round trip in 2 and 1/2 days.

Let my place at 8;00 am....Arrived Monday around 4:30 and checked into the hotel by the airport...immediately set off to Eagle Park...map app said they were closed Mondays but I called and the voice mail said open 7 days a week. They are but when I arrived I found out they were closed because their electricity went out and it just came back on. The woman working was nice enough to sell me some off-sale and I loaded up on about two cases. So far I've only had the hefe which is ok but a bit watery. I'll review them all in due time.

Decided I might as well check out Lakefront since it was right there too. Been drinking their beers for 20+ years and had never been there. Cool place. I bet it's real nice outside in the summer. Got a flight and ate their fish fry since I had heard great things about it. Had two Marzen/Oktoberfests, their Hefe and the raspberry/pumpkin lager...all were good especially the special ofest (Towny) which I got a six pack to go of.

Wanted to stop at Romans on the way back to the hotel but the app said it was closed so hit Sugar Maple. Nice relaxed low key vibe on a Monday night...fantastic tap list...had flights of Dovetail Hefe (avg), 18th street Hunter Double Cream Stout (very good), Scapegoat Bock (excellent) from Mcfleshman's, Black Husky Belgian Quad (avg), and Rooster Season (very good) from Tyranena. Then since our trip to Asheville this week got cancelled due to the funeral I picked up a crowler of the Hi-Wire from Asheville's Blueberry Crumble 10-40 to bring back to share with my wife (She'll have maybe five ounces of it) . Also got a crowler of the Bock to take back as it's one of my favorite styles and this was excellent.

Went back to the hotel and had a few more Towny's and wound down for the evening.

The next morning my plan was to hit Georgie Porgie to eat and try their custard since it was kind of on the way to South Milwaukee where the funeral was and I've never been there..but I had some extra time and went the opposite direction to try the much acclaimed Kopp's on Layton...It was well worth the trip. I've been off fast food and junk food since Labor Day so I hit this hard. Got a double of the vanilla custard in a cone which was a huge cone...way bigger than over at Leons. The custard was excellent. I'd still give a razor thin edge to Leons on taste but it's a good step up from Culvers (which is decent enough too). I also got a double cheese burger and fries. Both were huge portions. The double cheese had to be damn near a pound of meat. I seriously could almost not finish it all but dug deep and got it done. Outstanding stop although I may have just taken five years off my life with the feast. Didn't need to eat the rest of the day though!

Still had time to kill so went to drive by our old house where we lived until I was 12 in South Milwaukee then checked out Grant Park which I remember as a kid but wanted to see again...still had some time to kill so stopped at some dive liquor store and got a sixer of Good City Ofest (figured the seasonal would be a good option for freshness)

After the funeral drove back to Mn and stopped at the Holiday in Elk Mound and scored two sixers of New Glarus Doppelbock which I didn't even know they made and also got 12 of the Leinie Collaboration Lager made with Hoffbrau which has not hit Minnesota. Love Wisconsin gas stations...could not come away with real beer like that at a MN gas station...

And that's about it. I got enough beer to go through until Christmas I think. I'll be reviewing them along the way. Thanks again for all the ideas and suggestions. This was quick down and back but I got some good stops in and came away with some good beer.

@ZAP NG Gyrator is an awesome beer. The Leinie's collab festbier is around at some places in MN. Had it on tap a few weeks ago. It's good enough.

A double burger from Kopp's? As much as I love that place you're clearly far more of a man than I. Your tenacity is admirable.

Forgot to post what we did. Straight from airport to Camino for lunch and brews. Then walked over to Indeed Brewing for beer and shuffle board. Drive to hotel stayed at Aloft Downtown. Then walked to lakefront brewing Biergarten on the river, then walked to Eagle park. Then walked to a bar that had free shuttle to game if you bought a drink (I did). Brewers game against Cubs was great and lovely beer selection at that stadium. Then out of town early next morning.

Food especially the cheese curds while on patio of Camino on beautiful day was great, I like the hops growing up the walls and vibe there. Best beer I think Kiwi Big Adventure at Eagle Park

Gyrator is the real deal. I’ve been buying sixers at the expense of most other beers, Dan put some real love into this one. Perfect time of year to release it too, the ultimate fall beer IMO.

Hey all. Seems as though this is the most recent Milwaukee thread I could find. And it's not far off, because I'll be in town for a little less than 36 hours on Tuesday/Wednesday for the first time since my bachleor party in '16.

I arrive Tuesday morning and have client meetings early afternoon, then staying at the Westin. I'm planning to hit Eagle Park on Tues. afternoon before heading out to the Brewers game that night. I might have a client meeting or two on Wednesday morning before flying out that afternoon. Questions for this group:

    1) Anything else I should hit Tuesday afternoon before the Brewers game?
    2) How are the beer options in/around the ballpark? Is there another spot worth hitting pre-game?
    3) Any good bars w/in walking distance of the Westin that are worth hitting post-game?
    4) What's the best beer bar that's open for lunch on Wednesday that I need to hit before my 4 PM flight?
    5) Any and all food recommendations within relative proximity to the Westin are welcome and appreciated.

Thanks in advance for all suggestions. Cheers!
