I'll go for the specials specifically, somehow the regulars always end up in my car on the way home.

I'm most likely to stick to a core beer. Most of the time, limited release beers at bars or restaurants have a crazy mark-up. I saw about 8 different Against the Grain beers at Edmund's Oast in SC for 48-52 dollars. They're under 20 dollars in any bottle shop.

I tend to try new things when it's in a style that I know I love, so I guess that means I'm searching for a long term relationship?

I've got a few that I keep coming back to (I guess we're friends with benefits), but in general I'm a one-night stand kind of guy, because there are just too many fish in the sea to spend all your time (drink)ing just one.

I have a lot of one night stands in hopes of finding a relationship in the process

Maybe I wasn't clear, but I was specifically wondering about beers that are only brewed once, "never" to be produced again (as opposed to a beer that you simply haven't tried yet). Are these too tempting to resist because once it's gone it's gone, or is there a sense that by choosing it you are potentially passing on a beer that could become a new regular favorite?

I have ticked 269 new beers this year, so Id say I prefer the one night stand.

Well if we are thinking about it in those terms then I have a bunch of one night stands locked in my basement, waiting to become the proper age for me to have my way with them. Meanwhile Ballast Point Sculpin and Maine Brewing Mo are upstairs in the fridge, none the wiser.

... I use to only do limited/rare/desirable ... until the one slipped me a roofy! ... I woke up in the neighbor's yard and my wallet was empty!

They're just so darn pricey when you're out and about, will clean you out pretty quickly. Like to try stuff via craft store or trade before I splurge at the pub. I usually order something interesting but that I know will be very good.

Although I am relatively new to craft beer, I think I'm at a point where I know what I like, and will go for that before trying something new (unless I'm almost positive I'll like it) when I first got into craft beer, I'd try anything I hadn't had before, now I'm not so adventurous :stuck_out_tongue:

Maybe I'm a hopeless romantic but I like trying beers that I can grab regularly as much as I like the one offs. They're so much better for your wallet too!

I always fall for the ones who play "hard-to-get". You know, the "hotties" like KBS...BCBCS....Parabola:rolling_eyes:

I've turned down several one-night stands in an attempt to discover the next mrs. rights.

Translation: something that may become part of a regular lineup is more appealing to me than something I will never see again. Yes, there are exceptions, of course.

The chase for one-offs is fun, but I always find myself disappointed after finishing.....
