I'd go to North Park and try to pull off a Rip Current & Modern Times double as the tasting rooms are less than a mile from each other.

I think Alesmith is pretty skippable. Their taplist is always pretty boring (aside from release events) and doesn't stray too far from their normal regular/seasonal releases.

Perhaps that has changed since they moved into a larger space

I'd hit Societe (and always do when I'm in SD).....and Council is so close, you could easily hit a second brewery.

You should probably go to Alesmith more often then.

Also their tap recap started today and goes through to tomorrow closing...the draft list is mighty impressive.

Edit: And the last grumbler fill of the year...Brandy barrel old numbskull

The big question to ask is what kind of beer do u like....hops (MT, ABC, Societe), belgian (Lost abbey), stouts/dark beer (Alesmith)? If you just want to try stuff I'd second for Toronado (plus theres a ton around there).

I love when you can tell by the responses that a thread was posted in the general forum and then moved to the correct region.

It all depends what's on tap that day right?

Last weekend was my first visit in SD, and the tap list at Alesmith & MT was disappointing. Of the six places I went to, Council was my favorite.

Stone Liberty Station for diverse taps and ambiance + a stop at Modern Times. They are really f*cking close.

Otherwise, it looks like you are from CA so hit up something u don't have access to like a Societe/Council combo as they are neighbors...

Ballast Point has a tasting room in Little Italy, a five-minute cab ride from the airport (traffic depending).

Skip brewery and go to Toronado or Hamiltons.

If you have never been to Stone in Escondido, I highly recommend going. Most impressive brewery in SoCal IMO as far as ambiance, Decent food selection, Gardens to grab a beer and walk around. Nice tap/bottle list of all kinds of beers (not just stone). Worth the trip if you have never been. If you are trying to stay more SD central I'd say Alesmith or Stone Liberty Station.
