Oddly I got some serious onion & green tea off of Citra Sunshine Slacker. Such a shitty beer.

Call me weird but I've always thought weed tasted like floral sausage

I have never tasted onion/garlic in a beer, ever. I don't know what some people are tasting in Thunderstruck; tastes like a tropical fruit salad to me nothing even remotely approaching onion-y.

Gubna has forsaken summit for "c" hops. Y'all need to update your palates.

Some people find onion in summit and mosaic hops. I find that flavor only in summit. The biggest one to me is gubna. Recently, I've been getting it from stones beers like thunderstruck, enjoy by and a little in ruination. As far as I know summit isn't used in any of those.

I sometimes find onion flavor to be like a darkness quality too. I like the flavor so I don't try to avoid it.

Agree with @Immortale25 , Summit is the biggest culprit but you can also get some of that onion/garlic flavor from Mosaic.

Not all the time, but out of the 2 4 packs I have bought over the past couple of releases; 2 of the bottles had very pronounced onion/garlic taste too them. The others did not.

I used to love this quality in some of the aforementioned beers--Enjoy By and Hop Stoopid in particular. Then one day it was like a switch had flipped and now I am repulsed by the sensation.

I was thinking of brewing a mosaic and summit ipa to pair with hamburgers.

The biggest hops that contribute are a number of New Zealand varietals, Summit, and Mosaic depending on when it's incorporated into the beer. Definitely varies from person to person, someones "dank" is another persons "garlic/onion".

That sounds pretty tasty, then again ... I'm an onion/garlic hop junky when it comes to IPA's, it's like bacon - it goes with everything.!.!
