With the forced closure of UK pubs & bars I thought I’d open up a pub thread so we can not only socially drink whilst be isolated but also share info on small brewers who can supply with off site sales.

Thirst Class have free delivery within ten miles of the SK1 postcode of their brewery.

Me I have a couple of Beer Nouveau bottles that they hastily got together so that they could mothball whilst this is going on,

If I can help out in anyway just let me know.

‪So that’s the export/strong/Imperial stout bubbling away two to the second.‬
    ‪Fullest I’ve had the demijohn‬
‪Pale, Chocolate, Crystal & Wheat malt with Endeavour, Green Bullet & Sorachi hops.‬
‪Thinking of Calling it Memberberry stout.‬
‪20 days should do it then 10 days bottling.

Hey Bevis, hope you are well

I am down to 4 cans of Tennents and 4 cans of Boddingtons left over from two summers ago.

So I ordered 48 cans of williams bros beers to tide me over while I brew some homebrew, I have enough ingredients for about 40L of homebrew thankfully which will see me through a while, along with the cans.

I’ve got a Delivery coming tomorrow from Thirst Class included some Torrside and tonight I topped up Beatnikz IPA & Thirst Class stout with Sadlers beers, using the last inch of quality craft as flavour cordial.

Im well thus far, I hope you are good, did have a time when Tennents was all I had in, so you have my understanding.
Here’s to better beer days **nervously raises Westmalle Dubbel**

Wander Beyond, cloudwater, alphabet all still offering online orders.

Also many bottle shops are delivering locally to their areas.

Anyway, I made an order from Siren Craft initially when everywhere shut down and I visited Heaton Hops the day before they closed the premises and got a flagon. I don’t know if you are familiar with Bargain Booze Davenport but they are still open and have a good range of beer - surprisingly so if you’ve never been in. In the last few days I’ve made orders from Thirst Class, Pomona Island and Buxton. I may do a delivery from Heaton Hops or Epicurean when I start to run low.

Yeah I keep hearing about Bargain Booze Davenport but without transport its a little beyond me

have worked my way through Thirst Class delivery options even with them adding some Torrside

    was looking for an alternative
Beermoth wasn't delivering to my postcode
House of Hops is a little too far
out of the 3 mile range of both Heaton Hops & The Epicurean
wasn't too sure about not getting to select the mixers from Bier Cell
then my better half Julie reminded me of Artisan Ales in Sale, got their stock list from contact on Facebook, ordered by email, paid by bank transfer got my beers free delivery within 12 hours

made me happy again, especially the Howling Hops Well Shot, a 13% bourbon Barrel aged stout for £4.95.

so its bottling my home brew when I finish work tonight
and then when I finish tomorrow afternoon Ive set myself up four days of three beers, one being a big abv

Thirst Class is a big old ten mile which I had 2 spare lol

My first Grätzer / Grodziskie, a Polish style of beer I believe
    Torrside's Sto Lat
Aroma is smoked cheese and lemon curd
subtle smoke and chewy malt & wheat
very fizzy but I do believe that is fitting the style, most refreshing smoked beer I've had 4/5

    Just tried my RIS now

It has a big bitter hop profile that lends to hiding the booze and drinking like a regular but truly excellent stout. I can’t believe it was me that brewed something this good.

    Sounds good!

last night I had the oldest bottle in my cellar which was a 750ml bottle of Trappistes Rochefort 8 which I think was bottled in 2013 with a best before 2018z Still tasted good. I got 2 bottles of this size in 2015 and had the first one shortly after getting it, so been saving this as an experiment in aging.

Beer for the next couple of days.‬
‪Then work then the next week I think I’ll be off the ale, to keep with the usual routine, normally week before payday I’d be short of cash for drink drink but funnily with no tram fare I probably could afford some but I think mental & physical health says no‬, give it a rest.

Jeez, I haven't chatted about beer here for a month and a half, it's been a real mixed bag especially with work being hectic or doing not much on my shifts working from home.

However I've been drinking quite a bit of beer thanks to deliveries. I'm thinking after the lockdown having a one stop thread here, maybe call it UK Beer Banter, covering where we are getting are beers and what we are drinking, it should IMHO provide not only a wholesome ale related chat but also an invaluable quick reference resource.

But back to tonight, it is two days to payday so I've got a mix of Supermarket & the quiet excellent craft range at my local Bargain Booze.

Kicking off with Harbour's Beach Break, Robinson's Co-Op Summer Pale Ale, Steambrew Pale Ale (A German brewed APA from Lidl £1.39) then Beatnikz I Smash Simcoe. If I'm still lively by then finish of with a Tyant Meadow, which look quite abundant at my local Bargain Booze.

    Cheers.

Had a few more deliveries since last we spoke. Managed to get in on a Torrside order as my in laws live in sk23. I’ve made a couple of orders from buxton to try all their new stuff out, I did like the rerelease of wild boar. I made an order from Donzoko - 6 cans each of 2 of their lagers. I’ve also through epicurean ordered some Belgian classics - Rocheforte Chimay, La Trappe. Most recently I’ve ordered from Alphabet and Deya, and stocked up on some Burning Sky.

I’m not sure if you’re interested in Robinson’s but they have reopened their web shop including 2 new Trooper varieties.
