Hell no. That would be like eating hot dogs every meal. No variety is boring to me but to each his/her own.

Hot dogs? What kind of beer you drinking? Should be more like a nice juicy filet mignon. ;-)

Gotta have variety in food and drink. I never drink the same style in a row. This philosophy makes the next style taste better. Your palate becomes immune (and bored) if you drink the same style over and over.

I admit I love my stouts and porters but variety, as they, is the spice of life! I can't go too long without mixing it up with the quads, trippels, bochs, DIPAs, wheats, pils, barleywines... you name it. I can't see myself ever settling into one style.

I thought this was a thread about drinking Old Style / being a Cub's fan. Alas, not the case. I usually drink one style at a time - I usually drink one beer at a time, which limits the amount of styles I can drink at once.

Fan of most styles. What I'm drinking depends on the day. I require variety.

Recent visit to a well respected beer bar-
Me: (after finishing a NN) "how's the Ballast Point Black Marlin Porter?"
Barkeep: (in a somewhat condescending tone) "wouldn't know, I'm an IPA guy"
Me: (surprised at such a toolish response) "I'll take one please"

    Respect all beer

I drink a few styles. IPA, DIPA, and occasionally a TIPA.

Seriously, IPAs are always my go to but I have since started appreciating stouts a lot more. I like some porters and several scotch ales. I am starting to develop a pallet for Belgians as well. as long as it doesnt have a heavy clove taste or aroma then I will try it. I cant stand clove. It like mint or cilantro, if its in something, thats all i can taste.

i go through phases all the time. i'll be on a quad kick, that'll slowly fade out and i'll move to stouts, then the DIPA will be my headliner for a while... might dive into barleywines... change it up with BSPAs. then i'll usually call it a night.

I only drink Lemon-Lime Gatorade, no other flavor...EVER.

Plenty of people drink only "american adjunct lagers" or their "light" versions and nothing else really. (Yeah, crazy I know). Myself? I couldn't pick one style of beer. Perhaps "stout". That would cover a lot of ground. Plus I might be able to have me some black ales and porters lol. Screw it, I pick American-Brewed as a style of beer that I could drink forever. (Not to be confused with "murkan" beers)

I have a go-to brew that I drink almost daily - Sierra Nevada Pale Ale - but I try new beers all the time. Sierra Nevada PA is not my favorite beer, but it is my favorite all-around beer: it is well-balanced, I enjoy drinking it any time of the year, and I happen to live in Chico where it is brewed (and I get it for $5.99 a six-pack). As with any food or libation, it always comes down to the taste of the consumer. For example, I don't like Belgian ales because Belgian yeasts have an unpleasant taste to me; I don't like most stouts and porters because the malts are roasted too dark for my taste; and I don't understand why people like wheat in their beer - to me, that is like using rice (Budweiser) or corn (anything from Mexico). But does that mean I will not try any of the above? Of course not, because I love beer and I am curious. And by being open to new things, perhaps I will find a beer that I really like among styles that I would normally not drink. For example, I found that I enjoy Duvel among the Belgians, Deschutes Black Butte Porter among darker ales, and Miner's Wheat from the Auburn Ale House. If I did not have an adventurous palate, I would not have enjoyed those beers.

your post describes my habits to a tee, with only big Belgians and imperial IPAs missing from the list. Even your order of priorities I share. I was hoping you'd have more reviews. Let me know when you find something good. I'll be looking forward to it. PS: I like a good sour too.
