You mean your fermenter was uncovered?

I started it on Saturday night .... about 1am Monday morning my friend told me it should be covered ... its Tuesday night now

id lose 3 days if I start over .. whats the chances of it turning out okay?

It's not guaranteed that you're okay, but as long as the fermentor wasn't in a dirty environment you have a good chance that the beer won't be affected by that miscue.

What do you mean by covered? Is this a bucket with no lid? Or a carboy with no stopper? Or maybe either one without a towel wrapped around it?

well, you are not dumping this beer. that is almost sacrilege. not until it has fully fermented and you can find out if there is an infection.

for now, don't think about the I word. keep your dirty paws out of the wort. let the yeast do their work. it will most likely be just fine.

also, one day you will come home to wort all over the walls and ceiling because the air lock did not vent enough CO2 during a good fermentation, and you will wish you had an open fermenter.

    Cheers.

It works for this guy, but his fermentation room's air is likely cleaner than yours.

There's a good chance it's ok. Maybe not, but see it through.
