    Do market research on your planned location.
    Do market research on your planned location.
    Hire a knowledgeable/friendly/honest staff.
    Keep product fresh. Rotate stock.
    Discount product that is nearing the end of freshness.
    Keep UV light to a minimum...(i.e. don't have a shelf full of good beer right next to a big huge south-facing window).
    Be fair to customers with pricing and availability.
