Opening date for Lagunitas Chicago?

tickets came through, this should be fun.

 

Anyone going? My GM at work, and another coworker were invited by a Lags rep. and we just printed out our tickets today. I'm not exactly sure what is supposed to be going on that night though. Is it a tasting? Or just opening for distributors?

 

i'll be going. it's more than a tasting. celebration/party. they'll have performers too. this is their second party and their first was pretty fun. they can definitely throw a party, just like Revolution can.

 

I am imagining there will be fire eaters and acrobats and lions and tigers and bears ! And if that does not happen, the windy City Rollers are doing a skating exhibition! Yessssssssss.

 

WCR has a "Hula Hoop Girl" connection that is pretty amazing.

Wish I was invited to this thing.

 

WCR indeed will be there. My wife will be jumping over stuff.

And the WCR "Hula Hoop Girl" is Dizzy Lizzie, and she's awesome.

seriously, how am I in the guild, know about 50 people there, yet somehow at home drinking by myself. Not one person I know wanted me as their plus one....turns out I must be an awful person.

 

Don't worry, you're only missing scantily clad women, epic sizes fermenters, all you can drink buffets, and jam bands. Ok... it's fun

Was there any talk last night about a date the brewery/taproom will be open to the public?

 

They mentioned April.

 

Nothing official, but I'd guess April.

 

Then April will turn into July, then July will turn to October and before ya know it we will be looking at a 2015 opening.

That is sort of true, but Lagunitas had to break through a lot of red tap. With them being such a large facility from what I understand, and talking to people who are working close with the head honchos is they had to have so much water available per square inch in case of a fire and verify and obtain permits. Which anyone who does business in Chicago knows...that isn't always easy, because you gotta grease those wheels for them to turn.

Anyway I could care less. I'm excited that they're opening soon. My buddy @Lkoro who went to the party last night said it looks amazing.
