Sometimes you want a BEER... other times you want something beer-like to wash the greasiness of a cheeseburger out of your mouth. Corona is definitely for the latter.

    It has its place.
Though i do not drink Corona i do drink some Corona "clones" cheaper beers mostly from Guatemala.
Playa De La Cruz from Walgreen s at $3.99 a six is an excellent hot weather on the lake/fishing/camping beer.

The girlfriend loves it. With salt and lime. I hate paying as much as we do for it. I just don't get it.
But as long as I get to buy my beer as well i'm happy. There's also those smaller 7oz or whatever I sometimes talk her into buying instead.

Normal Corona is a below average macro lager. Had worse, but I'd take MGD, Banquet, PBR, etc. over it. Corona Light might possibly be the worst beer in the world

I agree with you there. Although, they really didn't have much to start with.

Beerthrash, I suspect you meant to say, "expect a different answer."
I really didn't know what sort of response I'd receive, and that's why I asked the question. From the answers I'm receiving from this forum, and to other inquiries, I'm getting about an 85-15 ratio of people who think that the taste of Corona does not merit its market prominence. Thanks for taking the time to reply.

Probably the worst beer I've ever had and wouldn't ever defend it. For those "it's so hot and it quenched my thirst" responses, drink water for crying out loud. First you hydrate, then you drink. If I was starving to death McDonalds might seem like the best meal of my life, that doesn't mean it's worth a damn or even a better option than just eating the bush next to me.

Great place to find a lime for my Grey Goose and Cranberry juice...

I have never really liked it but its not quite a drain pour, although as someone posted earlier when it gets warm it is horrible. <gag>

What I like best is their advertising.

Roger that, Jz. The advertising is what probably has propelled a mediocre product into a multi-billion dollar sales success. Back when Corona was first coming into its own as a fave among Americans visiting Mexico, I'd go down there with friends, and naturally, we'd look for the best brews to buy for the best price. On my first experience with Corona, we went to a bottling plant in Puerto Penasco where we could buy 20-bottle Coronas in cheap gray cardboard cases. I went into the bottling operation of the plant and was appalled. There were more rodents, insects and filth than you can imagine. That's what comes to mind, years later, whenever I see that stuff. No thanks.

Drank quite a few in Tijuana one time. I thought one girl was pretty hot, then a buddy of mine was making a out with a finely formed lady with an Adam's apple.....:grimacing: WHAT THE F*%k!?!?! This beer can make wierd things happen. Oh and the lemon & salt helps.

I like it with lots of lime, V8 juice, salt, pepper, and celery. I can drink this all day in the summer.

I don't bother with corona - it's more expensive than BMC around here, and if I want something watery I go for PBR or old milwaukee or something else that's cheap. I wouldn't call it great beer, but sometimes after a hard day you just want something fizzy, alcoholic, and vaguely beer-esque in flavour.

Eh, I'd rather drink miller Lite or Ultra. Marketing is key on Fri afternoon happy hour it is the king, nothing says weekend like a Corona and lime. Not me, but watching others.
