Hey my beer loving brethren in CT. Is there anyplace you recommend as far as bottle shops and restaurants in the Danbury, CT area? Thanks!

DeCicco's in Brewster, NY is about 10-15 minutes away and is your absolute best bet in the area for bottle shops. They basically get everything Connecticut has to offer, plus New York's far greater distribution options. Plus, they have 20 taps for onsite consumption & crowlers/growlers to go.

Stanziato’s has excellent pizza and a small (10) but solid tap list.

Of the breweries in very immediate vicinity, Nod Hill in Ridgefield is probably the best of a nothing-I’d-go-out-of-my-way-for group. They always have cans and 8-9 quality beers on tap.

As above, I’d go to DeCiccos in Brewster unless you want some CT only stuff which Counterweight, NEBCO, Relic and Beer’d are. For those in Danbury, I’d hit Caraluzzis or the place out by exit 3 ... in Trader Joe’s lot (name escapes me) or pop down to Anconas in a Ridgefield (the one on Route 7 is super close to Nod Hill).

Everyone above me did a good job, but one spot I would add is Widow Brown's in Danbury across from Stew Leonards. Definitely the best beer bar in the immediate area. If you don't go to DeCicco's, I'd go there.

But as mentioned, Nod Hill is great and Stanziato's is solid with great food.

between brewster deciccos and warehouse wine and liquor (trader joe’s plaza off exit 2) you should be all set bottle shop wise but the best place close by for more local ct stuff and a little different sour selection is yankee in newtown (across from caraluzzis). for on tap deciccos can’t be beat but would add meeting house pub to the above (ton of taps and always a couple i’m excited to try) although their food isn’t great
