According to the Bells site it should still be out through part of November I believe, but every place is saying it's long gone. Did they misjudge this one?

Thanks! I've been looking in the metro Detroit area.

All the bottling is done in one day I believe and it all distros soon there after. I think bells just anticipates it lingering around longer, but everywhere I shop it doesn't even make its way to the shelves.

I wonder if in the future they'll begin to give in and more widely distribute these. Evidence - Hopslam. This year not even going out of my way to get any. I refuse to wait in long lines or call around like it's the last 6 pack of beer that will ever be produced. I can understand that years ago but now craft beer is getting so good all around I can get year rounds that are beginning to be as good as this. Just picked up a Victory Dirtwolf on a whim the other day and am stopping in today to pick up another - really was amazing.

My go-to store gave me one as a joke earlier this year. Just threw it in my fridge, and it's been sitting since. Honestly, I didn't even like Oracle when it was fresh.

My local store has about a case. I'd be happy to help out.

Dang - I am in the process of moving, so have checked Bloomfield Hills area as well as Grosse Pointe, although not as much because I have never lived in the GP/SCS area. If you have any recommendations for that area...I'm looking for a go-to once I'm moved in.

Where are you located? I am in the GP/SCS area but have family in Bloomfield Hills and am there quite often as well.

That takes me off on a tangent - the idea of "cellaring" higher ABV beers. Do you know much about this? Should it be kept cold, or purchased and stored room temperature until chilling and about ready to drink?

The fast answer is you can celler any beer. What that will do to it is another story. I would not celler DIPA, IPA, PA, APA, anything hoppy is best fresh.

Stouts, Barleywine, Sours, Saisons, anything with Brett, Lacto, Pedio, ect make excellent celleraing canadates.

As for temapture there is no hard fast rule. Generally speaking beers that are kept warmer will change faster. I keep my 200+bottle celler in a exterior walled closet in my basemnet that is pretty much always 65 degrees.

For the record, dont celler Oracle.

Yeah as I sent that that clicked and wasn't thinking about Oracle - hops would be completely gone by this point for the m post part. Good to know on the temperature I was always wondering. Thanks.

Just curious, what was the best by date on the DW? Wondering if a new batch has hit.

Cork 'n Cap. It's on Lansing Ave. Saw at least 2 or 3 six packs earlier in the week.

I opened one about three weeks ago and it was a completely different beer then when it was fresh. The most noticeably 'old' beers I've ever had. If you find any, I'm not sure it'll be worth purchasing
