    Hi--

The Orange County (California) Beer Guide has disappeared. Was it removed for a particular reason or is it a glitch?

    Thanks,

Ah, nevermind, I see Todd's thread indicating it was removed:

My (respectful) rebuttal is there are many other Beer Guides that have the same issue as Orange County. The Los Angeles Beer Guide covers Los Angeles County, not City of Los Angeles. LA County is much larger geographically (and practically speaking, more difficult to travel around than Orange County due to traffic). San Diego Beer Guide also covers San Diego County, not the City of San Diego. San Francisco Beer Guide covers 4-5 different counties. Seattle covers multiple cities. The list goes on.

I think it's important that visitors know the top ranking places in a geographic area-- I know early on we got a lot of traffic through the Beer Guide. Thanks!

I was sad to see the Western Massachusetts Beer Guide be removed as well.
There are a lot of local breweries in the area that would benefit from this guide, as most people outside of Massachusetts thinks the state revolves around just Boston and the surrounding area
Hopefully the implementation that Todd mentioned is an equivalent (or better) replacement to the current.

It was one of two exceptions on the city pages, and a massive area. We'll be focusing on destination cities based on geo-location and radius going forward.

And having an exception for two wasn't fair for the dozens of other potential "regions."

I still don't understand why orange county and western mass couldn't remain until the new implementation (geolocation and radius based) takes place. You mentioned they were an exception, but I don't imagine anyone complained about them being there, and they were helpful, as demonstrated by @PMR and myself.

Because we don't want them listed anymore (for reasons already stated). It just doesn't make sense to make an exception for two regions, and it's not fair to those who aren't listed because a large regional listing hasn't been created for them.

    Closing this one down.
