I'd come help you dome some of those if I was in the area

All right, well maybe we just go ahead with the 1st Thursday model and see who shows up. Hopefully we get some more traction down the line after the holiday season passes. Maybe we can sneak in a bonus share or 2 on a different date.

I will be at Native Son Alehouse this Thursday 12/6 probably around 630 or 7 with a couple BA stouts

Hey there, just signed up for BA so I could comment on this thread. I am very interested in joining this Thursday for this bottle share and will plan to attend assuming work (or a beer trade) doesn't get in the way.
I'm newish to the craft beer scene and have never been to a bottle share. What are the general rules of etiquette? I assume don't bring shelfies and don't drink more than you bring?
I'm thinking about bring BA Darkstar and second bottle? Or maybe GI Midnight Orange and BCBS?

I'll be there too. I'll give you my cell phone no. in a direct message. I'll bring something, most likely barrel aged.

I may be interested in joining of these days when it gets in or close to Surf City and not so late into the evening (like past my pj time). Some of us old farts still have a life beyond beer.

    Glad to have you come!

As far as etiquette I'd say you are fairly spot on - try not to bring something that's too easily accessible (aka shelfies), don't get wasted & make a fool of yourself, respect the venue (purchase a poor or some food or something), be nice, have a good time. Also I think everyone should bring a taster glass so that we don't have to bug Native Son for theirs.

People will open bottles and offer pours to everyone that's there, if you want to try something you missed or have more of anything in particular just ask (don't grab). If there are leftover open bottles at the end of night I'd say feel free to have whatever you want (knowing you will be able to make it home safely). Not everything necessarily has to get opened / finished.

I think all of the bottles you mentioned are perfectly acceptable - I'm planning to bring some things I've traded for since I tend to horde them. Probably an Even Even More More from the Veil and either a sour or another stout.

Looking forward to seeing everyone there!

Only other thing I could think of is don't bring TOO much, some dudes roll up to shares with like 8 bottles.

The most important thing about a bottleshare: be careful how much high ABV bev you drink. And remember that Uber/Lfyt is your friend.

I always also bring a full 40oz water bottle. Sometimes two.

Yes, but beer has water in it.

How else you gonna wash out that lactobacillius lemon startburst and grape skittle sour before going to the green eggs and ham pastry stout?

I hope they use real ham & eggs not some manufactured concentrate.

I honestly worked at a flavor creating facility that did this for Jelly Belly. Both flavors.

Except the Egg was actually labelled "Rotten Egg".

Sorry I missed the first one! I was so looking forward to it but got stuck at work late. Hopefully my schedule will look better for the next one.

Another pro tip is bring tums/ antacid . Yes we all love sour beers but having number of them back to back without a meal typically makes a bag of tums well worth it.

Also, just finally setting in OC from Portland where bottle shares are a huge thing and definitely missing them. Is this Native Sons Ale house bottle share still a thing?

Haven't heard since the last post.

That being said, I'm sure there are enough people to get a decent one going.

Would love to see this happen but I understand it was hard getting people together in the past.
