A while back I heard a rumor about RIIP Brewery opening a new location. I don't believe in rumors until they are substantiated. Today I saw a utube about RIIP taking over the old Fitzgerald's Irish Pup in Huntington Beach. WOW.
So I've also heard rumors about a new Green Cheek location and a new Beachwood location. Anyone confirm?
Things happening in Orange County !!

I too have heard of the Fitzgeralds takeover, considering i could walk home, i'm down
I have not heard of any new Cheeky location.
As for Beachwood, a pizza/brew location near warner/bolsa chica was a thing until gabe had some health issues??
I'm spoiled to simply live in between the trio

Something come down to Aliso Viejo, please. I wanted a change of pace but now I’m ready to move back North - or even better, LA. Gamecraft is ok, it that’s it.

Damn. 2 RiiPs nearby in HB. OG RiiP would still be closer to me. They have been putting out cans like there’s no tomorrow. I think Gabe was looking at Pacific City location before the Pandemic. Maybe the Dudes and 4 Boys got in there first? Prayers going out to Gabe for a speedy recovery. As for Cheeky, rumors has it they will add a 3rd location down in Sunset Beach along PCH somewhere’s past RiiP. If that’s true then I will have 3 choices nearby me. And if BW adds a 4th on Warner/Bolsa Chica that’ll be 4. That would be nice to see another Beachwood BBQ restaurant down the street since Gabe had to close his icon restaurant down in Seal Beach. If that doesn’t happen I still got the other HB location down the other street. And let’s not forget the Monks will be taking over Anaheim shortly. Now if we can get HpP to find a spot in OC? 2022 is looking good so far. F Omicron and the others.

Gamecraft is okay. Their head brewer is Andrew Moy who started at RiiP and moved to Germany to study brewing techniques. The first time I met Andrew I thought he was a little kid. Well he’s sorta grown a bit now. I’ve been to Gamecraft twice when I’m in the area. Otherwise it’s all HB and CM for me. Closer to home. My bro in law is down in your area. He wishes the same. More breweries. Left Coast is a joke.

Docent is not bad either. The new Osheas taproom has decent selections. Pizza Port in San Clemente is OG solid. There are others in the area but MEH … just cruise up to Green Cheek Costa Mesa.

Left Coast isn’t even on the radar. I’ve had a few Docent beers, but I haven’t felt the need to visit them - same with Delahunt. Pizza Port is perfectly fine, but I’m cool with a Swami’s at home instead of driving to San Clemente for average (yes, I said it) pizza and maybe an ok 1 off beer.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but I announced on WBAYDN that I’m getting married December 27th and I’d love if people can toast me with a Pliny. I’d be stoked if my Pacific forum, err, West forum homies could too.

Date noted. No shortage of fresh Pliny in the Bay Area. I'll get a couple bottles fresh and will raise a toast to you and your wife for a long and happy marriage.

Ok: Beechwood to the old Que Pasta Italia next to Ralphs on Bolsa Chica and Warner, with Green Cheek moving into Harpoon Harry's / Ohana on PCH in Sunset Beach. I like these rumors.

3 OC locations is a hefty decision. Would love to see them in LA though.

not a rumor but a question: any word on Rad? is it any good? saw some buzz in the old pacific forum a while back but haven't noticed any mumblings. trying to doublecheck my list for an upcoming trip south.

Rumor is that Rad is okay to good. But maybe not good enough yet. They are still young and growing. I went once when they first opened their doors. It was okay. Nothing special. Radiant is better to much better than Rad. Like 90% of the breweries in OC/LA area the beers are average to good at best. I think of all the new breweries I’ve been to they end up catering to the locals in that community. And then there is the 10%. Two of my local breweries are Flashpoint and 4 Boys. Thank god i also have Beachwood and RiiP. And soon to be Green Cheek 3. I visited both 4 Boys and Fleshpoint twice. Never again. Sad. Luckily you have other good to great choices in and around the area of Rad. I’m sure you’ve done your homework. Cheers man.

yeah. Stoked to check out Radiant. stayed literally two blocks away a number of years ago when it was... whatever it was before... and never made it over there because of all the other better options. I'm admittedly interested in Rad partly because of the branding. but also super excited that Monkish and MT will be open (finally)
