you live in my area, Laguna Niguel. I think docent is probably the best in the area. Personally think it’s a little better than gamecraft. Their ipas are much better at docent but gamecraft’s lager is strong. If you haven’t checked out docent in awhile now is a good time. They have a full board of beers right now with a good variety. And their food is good.

but it would be nice to have a really good brewery like green cheek.

The brew house is a good spot for the dying craft beer bar.

Oshea's has a tap room now? In same space? Shame this part of OC is dry on great breweries given the robust amounts north and south.

 

Just traveled to OC for a week from St.Louis to see my family. Happy to see more breweries popping up here and there, but man seems like it's the land of IPA. This is a stout, barleywine, and saison deadland. My folks are in Mission Viejo so making the trek to Anaheim with a 7-month old is out of the picture. Hoping some more stuff pops up locally.

 

I have. I homebrew so I go there frequently. Well I go to o’sheas regularly but the taproom only two times. One was right when they opened, before it was “open”. Yeah very solid.

Yes! The Korean Reuben is sooo good! Also, the docent bowl is great too.

Has anyone checked out OC’s Hanger 24 in Irvine? Didn’t these guys open up in 2019 or early 2020? I remember reading or hearing about this place. But forgot about it with all the great offerings around us in OC. Back in the day I would drive out to Redlands to sit and kick back watch the planes while having a few pours of there IPA’s and fill my fancy H24 growler and make that hour plus drive back home before traffic hit. Haven’t had anything H24 in a long time. Not that I’m looking for any. Wondering how the food is there.

 

It's a sterile space set in an office park that's somewhat hard to find. Lots of room inside and out though. Feels nothing like the OG Redlands taproom. Can't comment on the food since we didn't have any. I don't see a reason to visit again unless I'm meeting up with people and the location is convenient.

 

Thx. Agree. I just thought maybe the food was decent enough for a visit. Haven’t had H24 in a very long time. Not that I’m missing anything. Looks like a nice place to hang out and have lunch.

 

besides the crap location, the vibe is beyond awful … pretty much all the shit OC people stereotypes can be found at Hangar Irvine.

Any updates on anything new coming to Orange County? Only thing I know of is Green Cheek opening in Sunset beach

 

Windsor Brown scheduled to open sometime in July.

 

Not necessarily a rumor, but a new brewery in San Clemente named Los Molinos. Drove by yesterday and they weren’t open.

Gave me an excuse to check out Station Craft in Dana Point for my first time though and was really impressed. Strata/Nelson WCIPA was really good. Really enjoyed the weizenbock and black IPA too.

While I was there a friend messaged me about Rad Beer’s location down there. Looks like it’s closed permanently from what I can tell. Not sure what happened there as it didn’t seem like it was open that long???

 

Not OC but Phantom Carriage In Carson will be closing soon. Sounds like they want to relocate.

 

There’s a sign that says Delahunt Brewing will open there.
