Anyone have a good suggestion for a hop or hop combo that gives off good orange flavor/ aroma? I want orange only, with minimal grapefruit or other generic citrus notes. Amarillo is the first that comes to mind for me. And I've heard good things about Pacifica and Mandarina Bavaria, but have yet to really try either of them. Thanks.

Amarillo is straight up orange to me.

The only hop that I can think of here is Amarillo.

I get a lot of citrus from Centennial but it is not "orange only".

    Cheers!

I get a lot of orange from Pacific Jade, but there is a lot of spicy/peppery flavor as well

Belma, though you might get a strawberry flavor too, depending on the vintage.

If you are looking for a strong orange flavor why not add some orange peel? I have yet to do this with beer, but I have made some pretty tasty mead this way. Just make sure you peel out the white part of the peel or you will get an incredibly bitter beer.

Funny... I was going to say Amarillo just like several others did as well.

I also get orange from Challenger.

I never get strong orange from hops. There is always more grapefruit. Zest it.

Mandarina Bavaria, if you can find it.

Now that you mention it, I have had some very good blood orange IPA's in the last year or so. Bent Hill in this neck of the woods is really nice.

Mandarina Bavaria. I used it in a saison. Definite orange notes, not strong but there.

I get tons of orange from el Dorado. A little lemon too, but massive orange flavors.

That's interesting. I made a SMASH with it and didn't get any orange. Fruit punch and a muddled/dirty bitterness, but no orange...or at least any orange flavor intermingled with the other fruits. I'm a big fan of El Dorado...except for bittering.
