It's insane when you know the prices you can get these bottles for from Cantillon. Fou Foune is at 100%+ markup at stores/bars in Brussels. Trappist World could atleast make Gambrinus a 750 for that money. Jesus.

My shipment just passed customs. So far I'm really pleased with them. They sent emails about when their boxing it up and when their shipping it out with tracking numbers. And I emailed them about a shipping question and they emailed me back in like 5 min on Saturday night at midnight (their time).
Communication and customer service has been exceptional so far.

I bought Westvleteren XII from this site. Everything came in good condition, and the brews were excellent!

How do these get shipped? Should I be worried about ordering in the winter due to freezing? I don't want to spend a ton of money on gueuze-cicles.

Does anyone know what generally happens when the nameless and faceless Customs Monster steals your beer?

Shipping is 5-8 days to the US. They packaged mine Saturday and shipped Monday, so I'm hoping to have it by Saturday for my tasting. It's going to be close!

I once had some money to burn and ordered Stella 3 direct from Mikkeller. The shipping was as much as the bottle, but it got to MO quick & safe and was ultimately worth it.

Just got my box yesterday from Trappist World. It was better-packed than a recent Etre Gourmet order, but was still just single-boxed. The whole box was wrapped in black plastic which made me worried everything was broken inside, but maybe they just do that to dissuade customs from opening it? I noticed they prominently wrote yeast samples on the customs form. Between their fast communication and availability of certain beers (St. Lam, Vig, Mamouche) I will probably order again.

If a bottle breaks, it'll seal the liquid inside and it's less likely to get tossed away.

I dunno, yeah the Fou Foune is a nice draw in the Trappistsworld.com package, but i'd rather get some slightly more common Cantillon from Etre and end up with double the beer if not more for only slightly more money. For example:

Cantillons Finest Beer Package: (750 Fou, Gueuze, Kriek, Iris, Grand Cru, 375ml Rose De Gam) $150 + US shipping

    =$240

Etre Order: (750ml Kriek x2, Grand Cru x2, Rose De Gam x3, Gueuze x2, 375ml 3F Oude Kriek, 3F Golden Blend)
    with shipping 196 Euro or:

    =$270

If you're jonesing for Fou then I understand, otherwise...

Ordered a sixer of Westies for what I thought was a good price of $120 total from them. Each bottle was carefully and individually bubble wrapped. I missed the delivery and so I went to the post office to pick them up. The clerk made the comment, "This is quite a large 'yeast sample' you've got there."
I just smiled and said nothing.

I checked it out and the Loons finest was 150+ 22$ for s&h totaling around 175$ for the 6pk to my doorstep. I guess it's another 100 to across the country. That hurts

Either the website glitched or you never entered your shipping info. If I just go to the site and add the Loons finest to the cart it is $172 with shipping, however that is shipping to whatever default location they use (probably within Belgium). When you enter your address it will show the real shipping cost, it will be $240 to CA.

It is 1000 miles further to CA than to FL from Belgium, It is 2000 miles farther to CA than to NY, why would they give you $70 off for shipping farther.

Yep, wasn't sure why everyone was quoting it so high. I never put in all my info so how would they know where to ship. I thought when averaged 30$ a bottle didn't seem too bad. Yea, then it's definitely not worth it (to me anyway)
