FYI: New brewery down in Oregon City is planning to open their doors on Nov 1. I've had the chance to try a few of their beers, and I thoroughly enjoyed them - well balanced and tons of flavor.

I know they are planning on having ~40 taps (guest and in house once things get moving), growler fills, food carts, and their brewery will be on site.

Something nice to have around if you're in the southern metro area and don't always make it into PDX proper.

Whats wrong with the name? Better than cutsie, trendy, or, "mysterious" name. Quick and clean, plus it tells you where to find them.

I'm hopefully optimistic about this as well. Other than Highland Stillhouse pub and a couple of McM's outposts, there's not a whole lot going on down that way. So potentially, this sounds like a great new addition to the area.

Don't forget about Feckin about a mile south of the still house.

I like the name and am excited for a brewery in the city proper, finally. Not quite walking distance for me, but close enough.

Yes, things are slowly improving out that way. Can't remember the name off the top of my head, but there's also a new growler station/pub in West Linn, right off of hiway 43, in the shopping center with the subway, noodle restaurant, the car wash and the Oil Can Henry's. Have only stopped by once, but the place does look promising.

There's a growler filling and tap room place in OC now too, up on the hill in the same strip mall as FedEx. Haven't been there yet though.

Man it's getting to be that there are more growler fill places than there are McDonalds in Oregon!

This is becoming a VERY helpful thread. I'm up in West Linn at least a couple times a month, and have become resigned to making the drive from there up to the Horse Brass, Belmont Station, Beermongers, HOTD, growler guys, etc. Sounds like I/we have some local options now, for those times you just don't feel like making that hour long round trip drive.

Eh I mean I just feel that if I had the choice of naming my very own brewery I think I'd shy away from just calling it the city in which its located. A good name is exactly that, a good name, its unique and original (which is important) and I feel you can stand to show much more creativity in your selection of your brewery name than just calling it where its located.

My wife spoke with someone six months or so ago that was looking to open a taphouse in downtown OC, but I didn't realize it was going forward. This is great news! Our little town is finally growing up and recognizing that beer was (decades ago) an important part of its history.

    From the link:
In keeping with a local theme, all beers will feature a Harney County landmark or event in their name, such as “Stinkingwater Stout,” “Lone Pine Lager,” “Alvord Amber,” “Steens Summer Ale,” “Carp Drool Nut Brown Ale,” and “*****house Meadows Wheat.”

The family grows their own hops in a half-acre garden next to the building, and the kids will help to tend the garden, as well as harvest and dry the hops.

Alright, they got me. Growing their own hops?

    Also, ISO *****house Meadows Wheat

I always wanted to get out to Burns on my summer camping trips.
Hope this place is still open next year.
