I'm on the hunt for an Oregon rival to Fremont Session Pale and Bale Breaker Field 41: sub-5%, year-round, modern Pale Ales in 6pks. Worthy's Pre-Funk comes close but it's 6%, Fort George usually hits the ABV and I'd forgive 4pks for some of their seasonals, but their year-rounds don't quite cut it. Am I missing any contenders, or is this a bit of a hole in comparison to WA? If F41 or Session Pale were available, I wouldn't care, but I'd like to find one in the indefinite interim. Suggestions?

Can't really help you, but I guess I do have a question. For my money, the best pale ale north of RR (Row 2, Hill 56), and west of 3 Floyds (zombie dust), is Boneyard's bone-a-fide pale ale. I realize the abv. is a bit high (5.5%), but otherwise... is there some reason that won't do? Is there some reason why it has to come in a 6 pack?

It'd been a while but Bridgeport Blue Heron was an easy drinker back in the day. A version 1.0 of a low ABV APA. Curious on how it compares to the modern versions.

Want it to be my fridge beer, and I prefer the ability to open 12oz at a time without committing to 32/64oz before it goes flat. Bone-a-fide's a good beer but it's not as consistently available as I'd like either.

Ugh. I had almost forgotten about Blue Heron since they stopped bottling it. Now I have the sads.

Just embrace Session Pale and your friends to the North.

Overdub would be the correct answer if Fort George weren't jerks.

I like to embrace my friends to the North (and Session Pale) as much as I can, but it's not as frequent or regular as I'd like. Basically, I want something that pushes my buttons like Workhorse but at 4.5% instead of 7.5%.

I had no idea that this does not exist anymore. Now I got the sads. When I used to live in Vancouver WA, there was a Plaid Pantry I used to hit up before going over the bridge. They always had it in stock.

I should revisit Caldera Pale and try Bridgeport's Conviction, just in case.

I was coming from Gresham. The one next to the sports bar. On hotel row.

Uh, Mirror Pond? Unless it's not hoppy enough for your purposes. I personally consider my beloved F41 an IPA, due to it's blast of hoppiness. Mirror Pond is my go-to, smooth, easy drinking, non-hop monster Pale Ale.

If you're talking about the one by Sidelines (diiiiive) then that's right by where I work. Probably stop there 2 or 3 times a week, but for caffeine because, well, no Blue Heron.

OK, I'm curious. What has Fort George done to deserve the jerk classification?

    Maybe it's because Overdub isn't available year-round?
