Sure you are. One week ago in Albuquerque, I picked up a 4-pack of La Cumbre Elevated IPA (canned 2/14) at a Sprouts grocery store for $8.99.

Yes, it was on sale. And it was all gone when I went back 2 days later. But the Albertson's down the road had 4-packs of Elevated (canned 1/31) for $9.99.

Yeah, the B15 stuff here in EUG is really affordable. Sticky Hands 4 pack for $10.99, DabLab for $11.99. Granted that price is Winco/Grocery Outlet, but both of them get it fresh from the source, and Albertson's doesn't carry it at all.

I was surprised to see B15 at my local Winco. $10.08 for a 4-pack of Accumulator doppelbock is hard to turn down.

I'll say. B15 4 packs typically cost around $13 or $14 out where I live.

16oz Sticky Hands for $3.79 is still one of the best deals out there

Holy Mountain has a new batch of Pentecost saison in cans. $16/4-pack. Not sure if it will hit distribution in Oregon, but the cans will likely hit bottle shops in the Seattle/Tacoma metro.

Have you tried Level's Ready Player One? Six-packs are in the $10-12 range. And it's year-round.

Hope y’all don’t mind me jumping in here, but, as someone who brews and packages saison every week, I can confirm that the reason you don’t see many straight-forward saisons is because they just don’t sell well (this is for a myriad of reasons, some being that the style is wide ranging and intimidating to most people who have never heard of it…which is the majority of people not reading this). It takes real commitment and belief in the style to make these beers (and make them well). We know that they aren’t going to move nearly as quickly as our other beers, but we’ve still dedicated a handful of fermentors to saison exclusively because we think they are beautiful beers.

I think for this dynamic to change both more brewers will need to produce excellent saisons (and this often takes years…these yeast strains are not simple) and for more people to drink and, probably more importantly, talk about them. The conversation around straightforward and subtle beer will need to exist before more people are going to really care. Maybe this will happen…maybe it won’t. I for one hope so and really just wanted to jump on to support and bump this thread.

I haven't... I'll need to check that one out. I've seen Level at a few places around town... possibly even Winco... if not, the Stein should have it.

@TrveBrewer thanks so much for chiming in... and for dedicating yourself to Saisons. It is a sad state of affairs that what passes as hot and trendy beers today are more like malt and hop based smoothies. It would be wonderful to see people drinking beer flavored beers again.

I brew at least one Saison a year; I may just have to brew more to keep them available.

Saison Dupont is now in cans, it's in stock at Belmont Station. Of course, you are paying extra for importation of it, but why not have the all-time classic while the style is out of vogue stateside?

If you guys happen to get Funkwerks distribution in Oregon or Washington, I think they hit a home run for what the OP is asking for (I know they've expanded distro quite a bit in the last 3 years but don't know if they've made it out to the PNW).

People kind of take them for granted in Colorado, but I personally feel very grateful to be able to grab a fresh package of Funkwerks saison (or even their Tropic King variant) for the typical $10-11/per six pack that we see here. And since their brewer replied directly to this thread, being able to get cans of various TRVE saisons is also a delightful perk (though I know that their distro is much more "locals-only").

Sometimes I click on threads randomly as I did this one. I just wanted to say that 16 oz cans are the perfect splitting format when you have a wife who shares the beer with you. 11 or 12 ounces is usually more than I want, 6 ounces is too little.

Funkwerks used to distribute to Nebraska so I'd always pick up some bottles when I was back there visiting my wife 's family. Great stuff.

Completely agree. It would be the perfect size for me as well if I could share the can with my wife. Unfortunately, my wife isn't a big beer fan. On occasion, she enjoys a small glass of a high octane BA stout, but that's pretty much it.
