Tried the Atalanta, Serpent's Bite and Calliope Saison yesterday and thought they were all very good. I expect big things from them. Was able to talk with their head brewer at their brunch thing for a bit. They're doing their sours by sour mashing and have a custom mash tun for that purpose. 2500 sqft of space for barrel aging as well. He hasn't looked at BA but was reasonably excited to hear that you guys had positive things to say about them.

Looking forward to drinking a lot more of their beer in the future. If you haven't had any of their lineup, Porter still has all 4 on and I think Argosy does too.

Most definitely. They'll soon be bottling and canning with limited distro, and they've dialed in on a lot of the inconsistencies that they had early on. When they're on, there's no other brewery in Georgia that's putting out anything in their league, IMO. I will say that Red Brick has really done a 180, nowhere near where they were 2 years ago...

BHB is very hit or miss for me. Some beers I'm blown away by and others I won't have a second time. Red Brick has really stepped their game up and it's nice to see one of the "big 3" GA breweries run a barrel program. I do have to say that I like 17th anniversary and 20th anniversary better than the two most recent BA offerins, Beard Envy and 3 Bagger, though.

Anyway, back on subject, I've been drinking Orpheus' beers for almost 2 years now. I really enjoyed Jason's stuff when he was still just homebrewing. Unfortunately, I missed the Porter event, as well as the opening for Orpheus. I was in Vermont for the HF anniversary, so it wasn't a total loss... I'm hoping to swing by the Porter tonight after the Mexican Siberius Maximus tapping to try the Orpheus beers there.

Speaking of Mexican Siberius Maximus, Wrecking bar is another place that is very hit or miss. When they hit, though, it's absolutely amazing, especially with the two Maximus beers.

Grabbed a 64oz growler of Atalanta and Transmigration today. Excited to try both. The Atalanta is pretty great in my opinion. It pushes the limit of what i think a saison should be but if very good. plenty tart, but not crazy sour. fruity. Not a ton of plum but when i think plum I think tart anyway. great beer. Will get into the other tomorrow.

Great beer and on my side of town.

Any word on Creature Comforts yet, as far as feedback? Haven't had anything from them, yet.

The Tropicalia is good, but it's the only one I've had. Porter usually has something from them on.

The Porter has the reclaimed rye on tap right now (as of Saturday, anyway). Its also pretty solid.

Had all their beers at the 7 venth Sun event a couple if weeks ago. The Berlinner Weisse , IPA, rye and a couple of specials were really good. The Pilsner was a bit over hopped , but tasted really good , and will be tweaked some more according to David .

I am loving where craft beer is going in ATL so many breweries are raising the bar! Orpheus is definitely doing some awesome stuff. I am excited to see where they go along with BHB and Creatures Comfort.

Orpheus' sour stuff is pretty good but not really my thing. Transmigration of Souls DIPA was damn fine & I really hope that makes it into cans for me to procure on a regur basis.
