Posted by Orpheus yesterday, it appears that the first cans of Orpheus Atalanta and Lyric Ale are almost ready for distribution. I'm not much of a sour drinker, and even I'm excited. It has been a great season for Atlanta beer so far, with more to come.

I'm really excited about it. Jason and crew have some good stuff flowing and it's really getting popular..

I can't wait until they can some IPAs and even some of the sours they have in the new barrel program.. I suspect there will be some ISO posted for their stuff soon ..

Agree, especially when Transmigration of Souls finally makes it into cans.

I doubt they will, but canning their hop experiment stuff would be fun. Probably keep that draft only, and keep their seasonal rotation, in cans.

I'm excited to see what their yearly rotation WILL be. Transmigration of Souls will without a doubt be an extremely high rated DIPA.

I am, however, interested to see what the price point of these retail wise will be in town, and how much will be going around for local metro accounts to get.

They've already said they'll be canning this next year. February, I think.

Just finished up canning Atalanta today. I am beat. Lyric will be canned tomorrow.

Right now these two offerings are our only in cans, the rest will be on draft.

I guesstimating we did about 6000 cans of Atalanta.

Both can offerings will hopefully be released on the Oct. 31, if all goes right with Distro.

This batch is my favorite of all the batches done of Atalanta.

I'll try to hit all the questions/speculation. I'd like to put the Hop Experiments in cans, but we probably don't have enough tank space to do it in the next year (it would also probably mean shrink-wrapped cans instead of the printed cans we would like to stick to). Roughly in the order they'll show up, the cans you'll see next year in addition to the 2 year rounds will be Transmigration of Souls, Serpent Bite, Peace.War.Truth.Lie., Wandering Blues., Life.Death.Life.Truth., Sykophantes, and The 12th Labor (an imperial stout that that's currently fermenting for this year's batch). As FATC1TY said, we extended the season for Transmigration of Souls well past Spring this year. We decided that we want the flexibility to do that, so the IPAs are no longer really tied to seasons. They'll be rotated, but some will overlap and some will be available for much longer than others (Transmigration of Souls will be around for 5-6 months). Though we can only control what we sell it for, based on our wholesale price, Atalanta should be right around $12 and Lyric Ale should be right around $10. dbrelsfo, I don't know why I was saying earlier that we were doing 8,400 cans today - we actually did about 17,000 (just over 700 cases/50 BBL). I agree with dbrelsfo - this is the best batch (and most sour) we've done.

Hope some of these make it down to the middle GA area as well. Super excited for how well all your stuff has been received.

Atalanta is great, and having more immediate access to it will be even better. And I finally tried Sykophantes at Augustine's the other day. I'm not normally a sour drinker, so I had to remind myself that this wasn't going to be a "figgy" sweet beer (i.e. dubbel). Expectations firmly in check, I really enjoyed it all the same. Think of it as the dark side of Atalanta.

There have been a number of fig-based beers on the scene lately, including Jailhouse Restraining Order and Wild Heaven Autumn Defense, but Sykophantes is at the top of the heap, IMO.

Can't wait for the 12th Labor (nice Heracles reference, by the way). Congrats on your continued success, Orpheus. It is well deserved.

A local shop is posting a release party with reps on hand on Halloween? Is this confirmed? United says they won't have them in stock yet....curious about this.

Nobody gets it before Monday. We saw a few similar things going around and don't know where the confusion came from. November 3rd is the only plan we ever had.

That's what I got back from reps as well. I appreciate everyone keeping the playing field fair too. Already put my order in and can't wait to move them to happy people next week.
