I noticed Orpheus posted on Facebook about their two-year anniversary coming up at the end of the month (May 28-30). I went to their 1 year anniversary last year and had a blast and I'll most likely be going to this one as well. Anyone else planning on going?
I won't be able to make the trip up this year but the One Year anniversary event was awesome last year. If anyone is on the fence, go.
The tap list looks pretty impressive as well. I copied it from their Facebook page. Truth.Body.Soul. (Double IPA with 60% more hops than Transmigration of Souls, a full 10#/bbl), 8% Atalanta Reserva (Wild ale aged 20 months in Sauternes barrels with plums), 6.7% Even the Furies Wept, Blend #2 (Wild ale aged 18 months in Sauternes and Cabernet barrels) The Minotaur (Whiskey barrel-aged sour ale) Coffee Minotaur (Whiskey barrel-aged sour with Java Lords coffee beans) Abandon All Hope (Bourbon barrel-aged imperial stout aged on vanilla beans), 14% The Sirens (Spontaneously fermented beer with green strawberries and aged in wine barrels), 5% Those Who Cast Shadows (Sour saison aged in Port barrels) Bourbon Barrel-aged Maenads #3 (Native yeast Tripel aged in 10 year Heaven Hill barrel), 11.1% Maple Bourbon Barrel-aged Sykophantes (Fig sour ale aged in Blis/Heaven Hill barrels), 7.5% Cognac Sykophantes (Fig sour ale aged in Cognac barrels), 7.5% Bourbon Barrel-aged Arktos (Sour ale 86% aged in Heaven Hill barrels) Transmigration of Souls (Double IPA), 10% Serpent Bite (Dry-hopped sour), 6% Atalanta (Tart plum saison), 5.25% The Rites (IPA), 6.7% Lyric Ale (Saison), 6.5%
I wish I was close enough to go. Everything I've had by them has been wonderful. I feel even worse now, seeing where they're located. My gf and I used to go to Music Midtown in Piedmont Park every year. I had no idea they were just on the other side of the park from where we were. Unfortunately we will not be going to the festival this year so I won't have the chance to make up for my past mistakes.
I'm not sure which day, but I am definitely planning to go. My question is, and this may help me decide which day to go, do you foresee that you will run out of anything? Like if I go on Sunday or Monday, will I miss out on anything? Thanks in advance.
Yes, every session starts with the same allotment. Some stuff may run out by the end each session, but there's enough beer that I'd expect everything to last at least a couple hours. I'd come Saturday because Truth.Body.Soul. will be freshest. We'll actually have that on tap Thursday and Friday as well.
Bought my ticket yesterday. A few friends and I will be going to the first session on Saturday. Look for the bearded dude in the pic if any of you other BA's are going. Stop by and say hello! I am beyond stoked.
