Orval availability

It's hit or miss. Bierhalle Deconinck had some crates when I visited there 2-3 weeks ago. My local Carrefour gets a whopping 2 crates in each Friday and they're gone within minutes.

 

Sligro@Netherlands got lots of Oval in stocks.

 

If you come so many times over just take a drive to Orval abbey

 

I was at a Carrefour near Brussels today where I believe I've bought a case in the past, and didn't stacks of crates available. (I have to say, I didn't think of poking around to be sure.) But, generally, I more often see it than not. It's not the drought of a year ago.

 

Because they do so much export. We can only get 2 cases a month or smth and have loads of bars & restaurants trying to order some. Sucks! In june I was in France, in a small village. Every bar I walked into had plenty Orval..

 

I was at Vanuxeem last week and they had limits on how much Orval you could buy (don't remember the quantiy, I think 1 crate). They had 3 Struises in their promo folder for Jan 2015 and it was all gone.

 

yeah, my goal is to try the Petite Orval.

 

There was some in Bierhalle Deconinck a couple of weeks ago.

Plentiful in Luxembourg. Usually €6.50/4-pack

 

2-3 three times a year I visit the Orval abbey, for stocking up my Orval Cheese and Orval beers (48bottles pp maximum, to avoid traders).

But there's another, very good reason to visit this abbey. In their bistro/café, they sell the 'petit orval' or 'orval vert', this is the second Orval and only available at the abbey. A very fresh and different beer. This bistro is selling aged Orval's too.

Orval is by far the most beautiful trappist abbey of Belgium.

I've been there for 15 times, they had always Orval on stock to take away.
