I just picked up my second 6 pack of Oscar Blues IPA. Like many have said, I'm not usually overly impressed by Oscar Blues beer, even though I am about 45 minutes north of the brewery.

My first can--- I was a bit underwhelmed, but by the second, I started to really appreciate this beer for what it is. It is an easy drinking IPA that isn't outrageously hoppy. The biggest thing for me is that this beer ISN'T malty-- I often think OB goes overboard with the malt, but this had a a subtle yet refreshing hop taste that I could see myself drinking on a hot summer day. When I saw it for $7.99 at Wilburs, I decided on the spot it was worth another try and well worth saving the $2.50 that it would have cost for my regular Odell IPA (although they are not comparable).

Overall, worth a shot, but don't expect a Pliny, Odell, or Avery level of hops-- it's just an easy drinking every day IPA with a reasonable ABV.

    Enjoy!

My store is having an Oskar Blues tasting today and the IPA is one of the options. I'm excited to go taste them to see what the hype is about. I can't remember having tried any of their beers, but hear mixed reviews.

I rarely post things like this, but I was really disappointed with this one. Boring.

Between being in cans, the excellent hoppiness and the $8 price point this will be my most purchased IPA from here on out (until something else comes along, of course)

8/14 can, wow its tropical fruit, honeydew and berry in the nose and all of those follow through on the palette. I hope this is made often because I could see myself wanting this regularly.

Such mixed reviews on this one, can't wait to try it. I've strayed away from OB as their price has gone up quite a bit in the last few years. $20.99 for a 12 pack is something I'm not willing to pay. (Stone mixed 12 pack being the exception)

I need to try more OB, still hung up on the OLD CHUB, LIL YELLA PILS & TEN FIDY...Chub is tops for me, nitro or regular, prefer the regular most of the time.

I liked this one a lot. Dales, deviant, gubna, and even g'knight all have that onion quality that is ok when fresh, but gets too much when it is older (which is an inventory problem at many stores here in mass). This one though, is much more fruity and less malty, which is more up my alley. I can see this one being in my rotation in the future for its price point and format. Tall boys would be even better.

I should say that I haven't had it in cans out in mass yet - I was in Lyons and Longmont two weeks ago and had it there on tap from the source. Hoping the quality maintains itself through distro.

I always thought Dale's was their "IPA" since they didn't have one, and Dale's is great. Not excited about this new offering, that has lower ABV than Dales - seems it was just produced to f**k with everyone. I'll continue to opt for G'Knight if I feel like picking up any Oskar blues.

If citrus is not your game you are pretty much going to hate this beer. Gubna it is not. As bright and summer like as it is for the life of me I can not understand why they waited this late in the year to roll it out. This is a beach going IPA.
