I have only tried Dale's Pale Ale from this brewery and it's a solid beer. For the second time, I gave G'Knight Imperial Red a go last night. And for the second time I detected the oniony/garlic notes associated with Summit hops. I want to give Deviant Dale and Gubna a go, but I think the onion/garlic overtones might be more over the top. What has been your experience with Oskar Blues and their flavor profile with their higher abv offerings? Has anyone else detected Summit hops in G'Knight?

I had both G'Knight and Gubna and I detected no "onion" flavors.
In fact as far as I know Gubna was the only beer notorious to have these off flavors, never heard of this happening in G'Knight since it's a red ale not an IPA.

G Knight is good stuff, haven't had it in a while, I like Dale's and Ten Fidy too. Gubna IMO is awful, and Deviant Dales is a way too sweet mess.

I've had DD and thought it was good. I prefer dales pale ale however. Have not tried the gnit yet. But I don't think you can go wrong with some Deviant Dales. Go ahead and sip on that tall boy.

Though Deviant Dale's was nothing special. Ten Fidy, now that's the shit.

I've heard the brewmaster from Oskar Blues speak about the recipe for G'Knight and according to what he said it isn't brewed with summit hops, it's brewed with columbus and amarillo.

If you didn't taste onion in Gubna, you have faulty aroma receptors. It's there and it's very dominating. It's also not an "off flavor", it's the taste of the Summits, and it's very much intentional. I've tasted the same flavors in G'Knight but it's far more subtle. Not sure what being a Red instead of an IPA has to do with it...(?)
As HB42 states below, G'Knight doesn't have Summit hops in it, however Summit isn't the only oniony hop, and I've read somewhere that depending on certain harvesting practices, most hops can take on the onion characters to a point.

If I detected the oniony taste in G'knight, I can't imagine what Gubna would be like. Hmmm... now I am hesitant to try Deviant. I notice from the reviews that it is quite sweet, but I'm not chancing it. I like onions and garlic, but not in my beer. Surprisingly, Dale's Pale is a beer I really enjoy.

Don't let those other onion beers make you second guess Deviant. It's an awesome beer that had 0 onion flavors

I got no onions in G'Knight or Deviant. Don't think I've had Gubna.

I get no onion flavors from any of OB's brews. I love onion though, so I doubt it would bother me.

G'Knight is one of my favorite beers and very underestimated IMO.

Gubna is a summit bomb. It has a hop smell and flavor unlike most IPAs. Deviant on the other hand is not, it is more along the lines of a typical IPA/IIPA

OB’s an odd one for me. I love pretty much all of their “classic” beers like Dale’s, Old Chub, Gordon, Leroy/One Nut, Velvet Elvis, Ten Fidy, etc.
However starting right around when the Gubna came out, I don’t really think I’ve liked anything new. That includes Gubna, Deviant, HGH, and pretty much anything else they’ve put out since.
The older beers are as tasty as ever, but I’m not feeling the oniony overtones of their newer hoppy beers. As long as they don’t change the old recipes I’m still happy, though. Old Chub and Dale’s are as awesome as ever.

Avoid Gubna at all costs if you're not into Summit hops. Deviant Dales however is pretty safe, one of my favorite DIPAs. Also had the chance to try ten fidy this weekend. Absolutely delicious.

I have had G'Knight and Deviant Dales and loved them both. And I hate Summit hops, especially 2011 Devil Dancer. I had Gugna on draft expecting onions but was pleasantly surprised. G'Knight is pretty tropical in my opinion vs. oniony.

I've had Deviant. Solid brew for sure. Kind of like a less dank Hoptimum.
