I know the event just happened, but has anyone made any trades with these beers thus far? My understanding is the Door Kriek was/is the rarest or most sought after and it is a sour with the lowest bottle count and highest price. I copied the below from another member, but there are the bottle amounts, limits, and prices from the release. Thoughts, I know they aren't expensive beers necessarily in comparison, but I'd like to hear what others think. Thank you.

O'so Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Night Train- 2000 bottles @ $12.50 each
O'so Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Night Train Blackberry- 2000 bottles @ $12.50 each
O'so Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Night Train Pablano- 2000 bottles @ 12.50 each
Funk Factory/O'so Brewing Door Kriek- 1000 bottles, corked and caged, 2 bottle limit @ $20.00

Since you're from Wisconsin, I assume you'd be trying to trade these bottles.

There's no market for these, & the sacred "bottle count" is only relevant if there's demand for a beer.

Unless or until O'so makes something mind-blowing, that's not going to change. I'm not terribly local & don't keep up on everything they do, but putting out those wretchedly infected bottles of BA Night Train did not help their "trading rep" any.

Barring any overnight hype, they'll mostly trade for other barrel-aged/funky locals, if you can get a taker.

    Agree with the above ^^^^

Much of beer "value" depends on hype, and they just don't have any. Most people have never even heard of them, which is the first obstacle, and many of those who have are aware that they've had some QC issues in the past, both of which make them harder to trade.

Not saying you won't find someone who wants to give them a try, or has had a positive experience of them in the past, but you should expect $4$ similar locals.

Okay. Fair enough. I wasn't expecting anything too crazy, but my guess would have been higher or a bit more. We'll have to see

FWIW, from what I've heard so far, O'so's new BA Imperial Night Train offerings are a big step up from their previous BA NT release, and the Blackberry and Coconut in particular turned out very well.

So...it may just be a matter of waiting for the stigma of the bad release from a few years back to die away and the improved quality of the new beers to enter the general awareness.

It's going to be a while before O'so can rehabilitate their image on here (at least outside of their FFG collabs). Sending out the infected BA Night Train definitely set things back here- AND still selling it at the party over a year later without mention of it being infected. Wow.

And the fact that they released undercarbed bottles of BA INT + variants at the party is fine, because they did put up a sign recommending that we keep them at room temperature for 1-2 weeks to let the beer carb up properly. Similar to what Dan Carey recommended to everyone at the Very Sour Blackberry release. But the fact that they immediately sent these bottles out to distribution after the party doesn't really speak for a brewing company that's concerned with quality first. So that's going to hurt demand for a good while.

I mean, I have bottles from this release and I won't send the NT's even as extras unless I know for myself that they are holding up. That's how far down O'so has gone in terms of perceived quality control. That being said, I'm not worried about Levi's beers as well... they're purposely infected :stuck_out_tongue:

I'm curious to see where the Funk Factory beers end up on the trading landscape.

Well I can say I'm parting with one O'so variant for a Hardywood Gingerbread Stout, Lugene Milk stout, and Terrapin Liquid Bliss. I'm pretty happy and interested to try all three of those beers.
