I just opened my Poblano bottle. It has been sitting at room temperature in the box since I got home from party. It is horrible. I've made it through 4 oz and the rest will be a drain pour. It is still completely flat and the only flavors are chocolate, a bit of pepper, and a strong metallic sour.

Gross. I didn't buy it, but got the regular and blackberry. Waiting a few months to open.

Score another point for O'so's Quality Control department. I think it's really the one main thing that's holding them back; they have a lot of creative potential and are doing all kinds of cool beers.

I have a friend who isn't much of a craft beer guy, but sometimes buys Night Train..
I was figuring I would see him around the holidays in a month or so, and had planned to bring one of these over. But now I'm not so sure.. the last thing I'd want to do is get him excited about trying something out of his normal element, and then have the effort be a total nosedive.
Hopefully their future bottle releases this winter are better executed.

I've had all three varieties of the BA Night Train available in bottles, and while BCBS is not in any danger and they were definitely on the flatter side of the spectrum, none of them were drain pours. The Poblano had too much heat for my taste, but I'm not a big fan of pepper beers.

There are only 3-4 other reviews on Untappd that mention the sour/funky flavor so I'm guessing it's a smaller portion of the bottles. I was a fan of Space Ghost from CW last year so I was bummed about this one.

Opened a Blackberry Wed, slightly carbed but def tasted infected. Wasn't sure if it was the blackberry. Picked up pablano today and drinking right now. Flat as can be and def infected.

    Severe disappoint.

Opened a Pablano yesterday as well. Flat, and would guess it's not "carbing up" any time soon or at all.

Having said that I really enjoyed the aromas and taste. Would have been a very good beer with carbonation.

Blackberry is flat. It is more like a wine than a beer.

Well, with 9 bottles (3 each) of this stuff in my cellar, I'm thinking I pissed away a lot of money

Sad stuff and an expensive mistake for the consumer. Surprised they sent this into distro at $12.50 a pop if they knew there were QC issues. Was really looking forward to opening one, but we might as well sit on them for 6 months and hope for a miracle now. Infected last year, flat this year. Unless you're going to have it at the tap room where it seems there are less problems, it might be safer to stay away.

For my money, I'll be going to these releases solely for Funk Factory stuff and taps. Until O'so can prove to me that they have their QC under control, I'm done buying their products. They have a lot of potential, but QC is what separates good from great breweries, and O'so is doomed to mediocrity if they can't figure this out.

That said, those that were unhappy with the beers, I believe they will give you a refund since they said, "We stand behind our products," on the Facebook page.

Marc did say you could take them back for a refund. I would email the brewery to get the details and recoup your money.

What I don't get is that their normal shelf beers are always very consistent and good. I drink a ton of Night Train and have never had a bad bottle, so what happened with these?

Like CW with Peruvian Morning, there's a greater chance for infection when adding adjuncts (blackberries and poblano peppers) and barrel-aging.

This chance likely more than doubles if a brewery dabbles in wilds in the same location like O'so does. Many breweries have a completely separate area specifically for wild beers to avoid contamination, recently notably the Bruery, who had suffered many QC problems in the past themselves.

This is ridiculous. I think I have 7 total, despite their reassurance to 'just keep waiting' I have no faith that these will carb soon, and I hate waiting to hope one is carbed when I do. What a waste.
