Sucaba doesnt hold a torch to king henry. It blows it outta the water. It's ridiculously good.

Duck-Rabbit's Rabid Duck and Baltic Porter come to mind as serious dark-fruit bombs.

Oh, I find Dark Lord and Darkness very different. Darkness is way more roasty side and are actually quite dry, especially when compare to for instance to DL.

some of these beers like dark lord are hit or miss for a lot of people....type of beer whether you love it or hate it. heard mixed reviews like its a complete mess, extremely sweet etc but i'll be my own judge once i try it. but i have no desire to trade out the ass for it.

i'm sure this thread will turn into a lot of back and forth about how everyone has different taste etc but the OP still makes a good point ( avoiding beers you don't like that may be similar...regardless of being whales or not)

Maybe you should try pink lemonade. No issues there for me

that's the bourbon barrels though. don't think you're talking about the same type of dark fruit as the OP

At Christmas time all I want to drink is Belgian 'dark fruit bombs'.

This must be a record on BA, 27 posts until a dick comment shows up. U got me bro, I can't handle manly beers like the dark lord. I must stick to pink lemonade and possibly even fruity beers. Has nothing to do with the fact that its s terrible beer and possibly even, dare I say, overrated and even a little overhyped.

I thought this a first, but after 5-6 oz, darkness turned quite syrupy sweet to me. I still liked it much more than DL and would drink it again if someone else bought it, just won't be trading for it again.

Yea, I love Black Note, and pretty much every bourbon barrel aged beer I've tried. I didn't find BN to be sweet like that at all.

Schneide Weisse's Aventinus Eisbock is to me the Christmas cakiest thing imaginable. I've never had anything quite like it.

Ommegang Abbey - easy to find and definitely represents the dark fruit flavor profile.

How about some BSDAs and quads. Chimay Blue, Rochefort 10, ABT 12 and even beers like Unibroue Trois Pistoles.

I'm shocked you liked BBXXIV because that was one of the most dark fruit-forward American stouts/porters I've had.

Oh, and I'd avoid Boulevard Dark Truth if I were you.
