Other Half (2019)

In case you guys haven't noticed, Other Half has had an exceedingly hard time generating revenue which has impacted their ability to expand.

(let me know if I should lay the sarcasm on thicker next time around)

Also I'm not ashamed to ask this but does anyone know how the recycling center by OH work? I've waited many lines that led past it but never had the chance to ask. Do they recycle any cans/bottles for a nickel without it needing to have a NY designation? I'm taking the Konmari approach to all the empty brewery cans I've collected over the years and tossing them out. I think I can get $10 for them all, which can either buy me maybe two cans this weekend or two tasters.

 

I mean since the expansion I think their pricing model for IPAs has been $16 for Single, $18 for DDH and DIPAs, $20 for DDH DIPAs and TIPAs and $22 for DDH TIPAs. $18 for a DDH IPA is nothing new, whether you think its a fair price is a separate thing tho.

Have to wonder if this was a previously approved label by ATF since no new beers are being approved. With so many variants as new beers being produced by Other Half, one would have to conclude we will be seeing less and less "new" beers as the government shutdown drags on.

 

The TTB website says Triple Mosaic Dream was approved on 12/2 so I guess this got in before the shutdown. I do see an IPA called Participation Medal and a stout called Spiritual Nucleus, but looks like those are the last two approved new beers.

 

If govt shutdown means more classics like Space Diamonds and Hop Showers then I’m all for it. Please no more new tose beers.

 

I believe the ATF/Gov shutdown only has to approve beers/labels that get distributed. On premise sales are not effected.

 

So how long until OH has a Brut IPA in the tank?

 

How have the Rochester releases been? It's been very quiet online so I'm not sure if it's a typical Buffalo OH release shitshow or people are trying to keep it on the DL.

 

Is there any word on when the Rochester location will officially open beyond Saturday releases?

 

Never mind, website still says late Feb...I'll go with that. Will be making a work trip up that way, trying to plan it for after the opening.
