Awesome, thank you both. This is going to be on a Saturday morning which is why I mentioned 10am. Gives my wife and I a good reason to get moving earlier if they fill up. We're not planning on spending forever there, but will want a seat for the time we are there.

Chiming in the say that the new(-ish) we’ve been out there in orbit coffee coconut macadamia is easily at level with velvet magnum 2 and snowbirds 2 and it makes no sense that it’s not sold out yet

I wish OH would put out a higher abv stout without cramming it to the gills with adjuncts.

Drinking my 3rd (of 4) Dayrdream Layers (dtd 1/4/19). Can anyone else confirm this batch is horrible? Borderline infected. Odd taste and aroma. Keep hoping the next can will be better but they only get worse. I guess OH is not infallible after all.

Haven’t had a Daydream Layers that I’ve liked. Series needs to be retired, if you ask me.

Can agree batch is not very good and does indeed have an odd taste. I agree with ol' Boogie Board Ford that the series could disappear. I get a really weird nutty, marzipan like profile and I don't know why. Why would you say it's infected though?

Yup I had it on tap the Saturday it was released, and couldn’t even finish the pour. I felt bad leaving the 5 or so oz that was left but I just couldn’t subject myself to any more of it.

Close, but I preferred the VM2 by a bit. Definitely regretting not getting another orbit bottle or two, but I'm really trying to cut back on beer expenses this year. That said, I'll see y'all at the Pastrytown VIP package pickup. :flushed:

I did say "borderline" infected meaning it's probably not infected but I just don't have any idea what some of those flavors are I am getting. And each can i've had has gotten progressively worse. I like the nutty marzipan description although there are other things going on in that beer that I know were not intended. And it's only the 1st really off beer I've ever had from OH in all the years so I was surprised more than anything.

Do you think they’ll ever brew Superfun again? Would love to see that in 36 packs this summer.

Edit: I know OH employees read this thread so I’m hoping my 36 pack of Superfun idea gets subliminely engrained in their brain.

I don't even think the nutty thing was intended! Also as per Untappd, it's rating significantly lower than the others.

I just wasn't sure what "borderline" means in that context, seems more like it is or isn't, no?

Most people associate infections with unintended sourness or excessive foaming but there are different levels of infections and any off flavors can be a sign of that (Diacetyl, Acetaldehyde, Dimethyl Sulfide to name a few). Don't forget we are talking about a beer a week or 2 out from canning that people are saying is undrinkable and has off flavors and aromas. What will this be like in a month or 2 ? (where most OH IPA's hold up very well for).
Doesn't really matter to me if it's infected or just poorly made, if it's bad it's bad. And like I said I've had nothing but great beers from OH so they get a pass in my book.

12% for a stout sounds so small these days!

I’ve had a similar experience with the last batch of Ddh green power. Legit smelled like latex paint and the taste was just off.

TTB would've almost certainly nixed that and then OH wouldn't have been able to get a different label/name approved due to the shutdown.

I had the same experience with that batch, I think it may be the Vermont yeast that I personally have a problem with since both beers were really off-putting to me in a very similar way. I've enjoyed some of their VT yeast beers so far, but never loved them, and those two just went wayy in the direction that I wasn't digging.
