Sometimes it’s like the cast of Half Baked is called in for beer name brainstorming sessions.

I kind of thought that was a decent percent of the OH crew. There has to be some link there given all of the pot references

They're just digging in and trolling now like evil twin. They've lost all original inspiration.

Ha, I like this name and label given the other beers they've done already!

"What else would our self-loathing fanbase that hate their bodies enough to chug 10%-15%ers? We've already named beers after every dessert and heart attack food...even put McDonalds on a label...fuck it...let's just put all of them on a label together. Next month we'll add galaxy and call it space food."

Please keep the thread on-topic (Other Half talk) to avoid people reporting it and posts getting removed. I have faith that you can still reach your thread goal in doing so. Thanks!

Anyone make it out this morning? How're the beers? The new 10% seems an odd choice but at least there's no lactose in it.

But I thought you loved the tose? It says so right there on your shirt!

Seeing how this thread is thirsty for on-topic posts...

302 new beers were added to the Other Half listing (so far) in 2019. That makes them #1 on the site. Other brewers don't even come close. Prairie is currently #2 with 194 new beers in 2019.

Anyone wanna wager what percentage of those new beers had lactose? I'm gonna go with 50%, but I wouldn't be too surprised if it were higher.

Since that'd include a lot of stouts and sours which have lactose at an even higher frequency than the IPA, it might be pretty close.

Yeah in the treehouse thread someone made a point about beers with minor variations and the fact TH has 300 beers listed. Then someone pointed out OH has almost double. Nuts.

Tree House is currently at #6 with 174 beers in 2019. I'll be posting final stats next week.

Looks like Other Half had 231 new beers in 2018. That's just over a 30 percent increase.

Will we see a beer release for each day of the year in 2020?

It seems only fitting that a brewery in the heart of the country's most bustling city should be so endlessly creative and industrious as to set that mark.

I don't enjoy as much as half of what they do—hell I'm with those who don't even consider half of it real beer—but I gotta tip my cap to them. We all do.

Was curious about writing a script to pull beer description data from Untapped to analyze lactose use, and their API documentation on beer searches uses Other Half in the example #funfacts.

I do enjoy OH beer for sure, but I think the reason they have so many entries is that many of them are so similar. For example, two new beers that made it down from Roc seem to be literally the same beer: Chicken Riggies and Stalks on Stalks. Unless someone who tries both can let us know the difference.

It's not just OH. This has been a long-standing criticism of many breweries who focus on hazy beers.

That’s a fair point. Personally, I’d rather see them use their increased capacity to churn out more of their favorites, in a similar way that Kane increased Head High, Sneak Box and Overhead. But I’m probably in the minority.

I don’t think so. I think most regulars in this thread would be happy if Space Diamonds, ACE, Hop Showers, Short, Dark & _____, etc were available at all times.
