Well, if they can afford to do that then maybe they have the resources to buy the surrounding air rights and construct this pneumatic tube delivery system for to-go beer that I've been dreaming of. Because that walk down/up at the Smith-9th station never seems to get any easier on my old knees....

Yes. Been there 3 times so far. 2 for Saturday lunch and 1 weeknight dinner. Lunch order has been cheeseburger both times. Dinner was Chili Cincinnati. Matt hired the chef from Battersby I believe as well.

Nice idea...but that should just be a theme-park inspired slide that drops you off on the corner of Garnett and Centre to queue your spot in line at the corner warehouse.

All right, I like my idea better (b/c how do you and your rucksack full of goodies get back up to the train without huffing and puffing?), but I'm willing to entertain your alternative.

In your scheme, would there be an Other Half attendant on the platform supervising a bath of lactose slurry in which you'd have to dunk yourself before descending the slide? Otherwise, I think the friction—barring the tube's being lubricated with some slimy incognito hop product—would really be quite prohibitive.

Edit: +5 Hop Showers points for at least correctly saying "in line."

It needs to be a joint effort between OH and MTA. Swipe your metro card to go down the slide, you can always take the elevator up if your knees hurt!

Haha right escalators never break in the subway. I do like the slide though.

Happy Birthday to my fellow Jersey BA and Happy New Year to my fellow OH thread people! Most entertaining thread on BA.

Man, at least one escalator is seemingly always out at this station.

This is one of the only stations without any elevator access :slight_frown:

Because of all the great participants

Happy 202OH to all of you! Can we come up with a more clever way to work OH into 2020?

There's no way I could ever equal @SeanEDPBK's truly heroic output from last night, but since I expect this to be my last rodeo, I wish to say a couple things.

First, the Gold Strap released today is a really nice effort. It's prune-forward, with some toffee/fig in the middle, and some "tobacco juice" on the finish (never smoked or dipped, but that seems the right descriptor). Burns the tongue a little, but for such a big and young brew I can't fault it too much for that.

Barrel-aging definitely isn't OH's forte, but after the excellent BA Double Drupe and now this, maybe they're starting to get better?

Second, thanks for all the laughs this year and for toughening me up a bit, fellas. Gonna need both to survive here in New York. I'm more grateful than you know and look forward to seeing many of you out there henceforth in the analog world, where the misunderstandings are less frequent and the personal connections deeper.

P.S. As for #189, we did it and then some!!! It was a total shitshow of misplaced attention, repetitiveness, and utterly insignificant tomfoolery, but a collective "accomplishment" the likes of which I don't think this site or any other has ever seen...
