was there any list or anything for what Veil will have on Friday?
So how much of a disaster is this going to be? Kinda tempted to head over during my lunch break.
I'm also curious if Friday can be a typical in and out. I'd rather not deal with a shitshow on a Friday afternoon when I can just pop in tomorrow and grab some Space Daydream.
hopefully they release the tap takeover list soon. I wouldn't be able to get there until later at night so cans are prob gone by then anyway.
Yeah same. Totally forgot about veil thing and was hoping to drop by Friday (only chance this week) to do a ninja grab of some space. Especially important since my smoke show wife going on a bachelorette party so I’m solo parenting for two nights. Was aiming for a case instead of the usual 2 x 4s
i am going to be totally shocked if this isnt atleast a defcon-1 shitshow.
I think you answered your own question, that’s what I would do if I was you.
yeah, i might sit it out fully, depends if I am even going to be around the area Fri PM
I love how you’ve completely immersed yourself into the American culture.
Hahaha mate if I said “my fit wife is going to a hen party” then people would think that she’s a gym rat who’s off to fondle chickens
Has OH hosted a "mobile can release" before? I imagine that feature alone would have Friday dwarfing any other takeover they've done.
They've done bottle releases for J Wakefield twice if I recall correctly and they have sold some of their EQ collabs that were at EQ.
Forget it. I’m stupid.
It doesn't get much more American than putting half and half into your golden grahams.
No I didn't start Brooklyn Kura. When I left OH, I was helping out at Sake Brooklyn.
But now I am starting a brand new sake brewery in Bushwick which should be opened by Winter.
Max patagucci tonight. Was able to nip by to grab cans in the end
If you crack a Space, please share your impressions.
Considering a trip after work tomorrow.
Yeah just had one - prob needs a few days ideally. But will be worth it as always!
I haven't been to Other Half in over a year. I'm considering going on my birthday in a few weeks. It's on a Sunday. They generally have multiple to-go can options at all times now, right?
ah my mistake! either way, definitley will be dropping by your spot when it opens.
Having seen all of TNG, you don't want to crack Space.
You'll have about 5 options, any hot new collab will be gone.
Going to be in NYC getting ink done next Thursday. Plan on stopping by Other Half after my appointment
Are they able to package beer to go using dry ice by any chance? Would like to bring back some cans but I'll be taking the train so I'd like to keep them somewhat cold
They sell those, dry ice would be on you though.
Ima lose my nerd card here,
but I have to google TNG every time.
Looks like Trillium is brewing at Evil Twin tomorrow. If they're in Brooklyn...
Sort of depends on how much you bench and how hot your wife/gf is. But @Tallerboy right - likely not happening
I have shipped beer cross country, and it was fine... You could always grab ice at a corner store put it in zip locks along with the insulated tote and you'll be more than fine.
How long is your train ride? There is a huge misconception that you have to keep your beer cold throughout delivery process. As long as the packaged beer does not go through an extreme temperature swing (i.e 40 degrees to 90 degrees) or stays warm for a prolongued period, a change in temperature for a short period of time will not impact the quality of the beer.
Triple Space Diamonds definitely needs another week or two. Very peppery/grassy in its current state. Hoping these flavors mellow out.
Probably best to do OH before your appointment. #noregerts.
Buyer beware...if you don’t keep the beers between 36.5 and 39.5 F it will be a waste of money.
I kid of course! No need to worry about ice...I leave out OH cans for 1-2 weeks in room temp after I purchase them until I’m ready to drink...then I refrigerate. Guarantee you wouldn’t be able to taste the difference if you kept them refrigerated the whole time. Facts...
My brother in law (best dude ever) once brought me a mixed case from Trillium which was kept at room temperature for 24 hrs before it got to my fridge. Not a bad can in the bunch.
Yeah, the temperature control beer nazis are a bit outa control. I've had a friend give me OH IPAs that were at room temp for weeks that were fine.
As someone that has been to some of the most hyped noon releases, including BA Snowbirds, I can say it hasn't been bad at all. In fact, after 20 minutes or so, there was no line for BA Snowbirds and people were starting to get 2nd and 3rd allotments.
The thing is, The Veil released these cans at their own brewery too, and I could be wrong but I assume they aren't pumping out as much beer as OH, so I can't imagine there's anything close to a usual OH batch amount.
Tap Takeover list updated on Other Half's IG page. Looks like a really solid line up with a brand new stout dropping. Hollow Place: Coconut. Can't wait for the reviews, the Vanilla version is dropping in bottles in July. Highly recommend any debating on whether or not to go, to bite the bullet and go. Some really good beers gonna be pouring and if you can score bottles of Eternal Slumber, the headache will be worth it.
