Za-ya ramen is pretty good.
Does the stout drop mean there’s going to be a line at open tomorrow?
I tried both of the Hidden Springs Stouts and while they were good I kinda came to the realization that I actually prefer non-BA Pastry stouts. I feel like the Barrel/Spirit character often interferes with the adjuncts and visa versa. I think just straight up malt and spirit/barrel character blend together much better.
Yeah, +1 to this with an addendum. I prefer non BA pastry stouts and I prefer BA non pastry stouts. BA or pastry tends to be an exclusive disjunction.
I don't get pastry stouts, you guys are nuts paying for kid cereal in your beer, oak & bourbon that's for men!
Ok peeps... God it's quite since the men that should not be named went away... How's this batch of DDHDMD?
Anyone try the Evil Twin collab?
Late to the party but I have to throw Richmond, VA in there. Food scene is out of this world and there are a ton of incredible breweries crammed in about a 15 mile radius. Just about every style of beer you could ever want to drink is represented as well. An entire weekend wouldn't be long enough to hit every brewery. Only place I feel Richmond really lacking is in the beer bar department, better off just going to each brewery. Can't say that its better than NY but its definitely on par for quality and options.
Its good, I feel like its pretty similar to The Daydreamiest which has the same hop profile. I also got the Avocado sour and its surprisingly good.
What do you country mice do for transportation between outpost on your crawls?
Fire emoji. Cracked a can today and it was great
Is this collab worth the spousal strife I'm gonna get by sneaking out to get more beer?
Well, I tried. It sold out by the time I got there (around 3pm). Consolation prize... I haven’t had ddhdmd in a while. Time to revisit an old friend.
If you have spousal strife in the first place, then the answer, of course, is yes.
Not all of us are blessed with IPA guzzling Canadian supermodel girlfriends.
I'm curious, is this where people post stuff about Other Half Rochester, or is this just OHNYC?
This thread is a superfan club of city slickers (why no city slickers this year?) Rochester only comes up when they steal our beer.
Welcome. How’s your hand dryers up there?
hello chaps! im in the uk and had the cloudwater version of tremendous ideas. its much different than the first batch. really really good. it tastes more other half than CW’s other beers, whereas the first had the jw lees yeast and a less sweeter backbone.
If your burrito palate was formed anywhere on the West Coast, you will be seriously unimpressed. OTOH, I haven't found great burritos in NYC anywhere (I should say Manhattan/Brooklyn); would happily take recommendations, especially if anyone knows of anything remotely similar to La Taqueria in SF.
Never made it to CA yet, but also never made it to that place on smith and 9th haha. There's a super authentic/traditional Mexican place around the corner from my GF we go to often and I really like their food
There was a place my brother brought me to just west of Ocean Pkwy in BK a few years back that was authentic and delicious but the name absolutely escapes me. Maybe someone here has been? I’d say its in Gravesend. Then again, it was 8 years ago so the place might not even be there anymore.
El Farolito in the Mission is the best burrito I've ever had. Nothing in NYC has come remotely close unfortunately.
Also excellent . . . the reason I prefer La Taqueria is they omit rice entirely--all meat and bean goodness.
Taquitos, 14th Ave between 68th & 67th. Dyker/Bensonhurst border area
Thanks, looks promising!
Stopped by OH Roc over the weekend, hand dryers are better in Brooklyn.
No prob, everything I have had has been good!
I can't move forward with my week until I see the weekend's can list.
Do I need to plan on running out Saturday... is it a wait til Sunday/Monday release? Is it a "pass and go out on the best weekday" situation?
I need to know!
Damn..... this is a good release. Thank god my fridge is finally empty.
hell of a release!
Yep. Pretty crazy. I’m thinking of making the trip in for this one, that’s how good it looks.
Mylar Bags and Vapor Ringz!?!? I'm in Philly the next couple of weeks . . . if anyone's up for a Tired Hands trade, let me know.
This is the type of release I was waiting for. Doesn't hurt that this is my birthday weekend and I'm off on Saturday.
Thanks, Other Half!
*Addendum: just cracked open a can of the last batch of DDH OH...Forever and I'll go on record by saying this is right up there with Hop Showers and Mylar in terms of rotating regulars. I might even prefer it by a hair.
Question for anyone that's had both Snowbirds 3 VIP and All 5th Anniversary, how would you say they compare to each other? Particular interest on the Thai banana influence on both.
I think this is the place I referenced before. The inside looks very familiar. Have they been around awhile? Fits the location I was in/nearby.
