Highroller Lobster (which has some connection to Bissell) has visited before, perhaps they’ll be slinging rolls on Saturday morning?
Yeah I mean if you prefer to eat hot lobster on a 90 degree day with 70% humidity while butter drops down your chin and onto your little bib with a cartoon lobster on it then more power to you.
So no hot food consumed during the summer months?
No, just that cool, refreshing lobster is preferable
Yes I want Galaxy+Cashmere!
They went away for what felt like a year, then came back, and now they're gone again.
Funk Factory Gueuzeria is doing a bottle sale & tap takeover on Friday, I'm assume that's going to be a shitshow?
beerstradamus predicts no shitshow. while FF is good, they do not garner hype here like that, especailly with the OH scene.
Sometimes you feel like a man of class, and other times you feel like a philistine.
Damn those prices
They're definitely pricey but I think that's just the reality of Spontaneous beer in America, even Allagash which has one of the most mature programs in the country its $15 for a 375ml of their blended coolship beer. Its crazy that Cantillon sells 750s of their core beers for like €6-7 at the brewery.
@SpinSamzo, the Dead Palates Society Charter and membership profile form are in the mail and should arrive shortly. Let me know if you want the PDF instructions of how to make your own hazepecker- themed avatar or my top ten list of insults for Scottish spandex cyclophants.
Everyone's favorite ball-breaking, bicycling birdie is on a short leash these days, open season on hazepeckers here .
What does everyone think of Juice Ribbons? I loved it, looks like more than most people according to ratings I have read.
I think it is great. OH would have been better served to release this after letting it sit for a few weeks. The can I had tonight was much better than the one last week. Fresh can was hot and now settled down great.
Late to the party by this FFG stuff looks great. Here's hoping some combination of low-NYC-hype and bottle prices results in my being able to stroll up at 12pm, pick up a bottle of each, and walk out without a line
11 folks in line
Very reasonable. I’m about ten minutes out. Cheers
About 20 now
Was on my way to OH when I got stuck behind a 10 car pile up on Rockaway Blvd. They say no one has ever beat the Van Wyck. I tell you I came as close as anyone has ever come.
Anyway, turned around. Dont need a 5 hour round trip on a beautiful day.
Wow sold out of all but Cherry Meertz and Fleur du Norde in 30 mins.
Good job out there today, team. Showed 'em we can buy lambic as good as anybody.
A friend of mine reminded me of this the other day:
At Green City, did anyone else see the dude that had a custom all-over-print t-shirt with OH cans all over it? And/or is that person one of you posting in this thread? Hah.
I’m surprised that people didn’t think it would go fast, Lambic is like part of the holy trinity for hypebeasts to flip along with Hazecans and Batterwater.
That's true, but I assumed there was a knowledge disparity, however. It's the wrong color, it comes in a weird bottle, it has this wine cork, etc. etc. And if they can't sell it, they can't drink it, and there's no lactose and tastes all sour; "yuck".
What makes you think everyone is going to drink it? Tradebroz are always on the prowl.
Sell ‘em to buy more super collab hazy burning hop liquid released way before it’s actually drinkable
If batterwater is a new term referring to pastry stouts, I dig the new nomenclature.
Looks like they might be down to the last two cases of each beer. The ‘gueuze’ is really tasty, as is the mango-pink guava although it doesn’t really taste like Lambic.
Not me, but I was in my custom NEIPA/Newport shirt. #shamelessshill
Rochester getting a bunch of new cans this weekend, is it pitchfork time?
lets see if I can still stroll in and get the BK releases at noon, if not b/c they sent some up there then maybe Ill get mine out haha
Haha yea its one of the many colorful terms DDB uses to disparage pastry stouts, I think he also used pancreas syrup recently.
Also I tried the new collabs this weekend and honestly not that impressed with any of them. I'm on #TeamButter for both the beer and the lobster rolls though. If they actually serve lobster rolls tomorrow though I'll consider coming out.
I'm with you that butter was better then cream, though both were better than a lot of the sub 7% stuff OH has done in the past. I thought dryer sheets was nice. It had that frothy body that used to be an OH staple.
Also a Modern times collab bottle with coconut and macadamia should be showing up over the next few days. It tasted as good as all their other chocolatey, nutty stouts.
Always with the inside deets. I think BA should give you a special title like Chief Patron of Lurking OH Fanboiz.
Kanger 1000 (read it with terminator music playing in your head)
12 cans in Rochester, 8 cans in BK. OH has taken hating locals to a whole new level.
Anybody know what the line is like? Got a family wedding in Brooklyn today and I either have to be back at the hotel by 10:30 or have to run between 11:45-12:00.
Find an in-law that doesn't want to be there and let them make the run for you. Problem solved
