To me, the Teku is just an oddly shaped wine glass and I have poured a few imperial stouts into one of the wife’s oversized wine glasses. And, it’s funny you mention Tørst because if I’m not mistaken hasn’t Jeppe said that, really, any beer can be poured into a wine glass?

The size is my biggest issue with tekus. You always have to pour some in, drink it, then pour the rest. My 20 oz willi becher from Kane that cost $5 is my usual go to. It's built like a tank, too.

My wife likes my tekus because she usually drinks 375 ml bottles, but she's also broken 2 of them.

I think he did. And honestly looking back I remember the first time going there, my one friend's response as we walked in to this "cutting edge beer bar" was to ask why everyone was drinking wine. I guess the wine glasses or tekus are just nice for trapping aromas in IPAs and stouts. Otherwise for ales/lagers/pilsners a nice pint or Belcher glass works just as well. I guess if I had more Suarez available I'd be tempted to get a pilsner glass, if only to go all in, but as it stands I usually end up outside drinking pilsners right out of the can like heathen.

I’m probably weeks behind with this but saw a shipping option on their site I hadn’t seen before. 3 very pastry stouts sold in a pack. All sold out

Looks like the Lake Ronkonkoma beverage guy posted more racist shit online and then used the old account was hacked excuse. It’s sad that Other Half does business with those clowns.

Oh good, there are plenty of other gems in his profile, from someone who "barely uses Facebook" and was hacked just this once lol...

“China is a cancer to the world...they’re a filthy shithole”
    "fuck foreign anything"
“Line people up [to be shot] at the border”

Was it confirmed that OH has a business relationship with them?

I don't like this, it has a Summer of '68 vibe...

Jared Diamond will need another chapter in his germ theory of history, COVID-19 has been catalyst in Hong Kong and the Twin Cities.

Unfortunately, the material conditions that underlie the current protests and riots are far more pessimistic and alienating than they were in '68

I disagree... MLK, RFK, and the Tet Offensive were much worse, but the summer not 2020 is looking bad and could get much worse.

fuck man I’m losing it. I swear though that I’ve never seen a separate shipping option when you go on site. maybe they’re prepping it for something similar

on another note I did step up - again - to get ACE. Again it’s an 8/10 batch. Excited to crack a Centre again - and not just for the correct spelling.

And yes totally fucking shit summer. I just hope that there’s some positive change out of all this

It's actually amazing how many "collectible" beer brand tulips / tekus / stemless glasses break when nothing notable happens to the them while carefully handwashing - yet a high quality wine glass that literally never happens and they all last indefinitely unless they hit the floor.

I have a ton of Riedel glassware samples from working at a distributor who sold the brand (so not a matching set but many different singles of white wine and red wine glasses to show restaurants). They literally have a glass for everything, there's not a "chardonnay" glass - there's 3 different glasses designed for Oaked California/ Montrachet... versus several glasses designed for unoaked Chardonnay / Chablis. There's power of suggestion for sure, but they have tested shapes over and over with fine wines in designing them and if you use the specified glass with a high end wine (or spirit), it really does accentuate the nose vs using a cheap shallow white wine glass or rocks glass.

One day beer will get there - we will scoff at the guy drinking ACE out of a Mosaic specific glass. Shit they could probably even design a glass that will take these subpar Galaxy beers and magnify them up a couple of notches... shed the vegetal notes and hone in on the tropical.

TLDR: if Reidel put their mind to it, they could design hop specific glasses for IPAs/IIPAs and I'd probably buy them.

I thought they got formal shipments since COVID at least, similar to the Maryland liquor store that gets weekly formal drops. There was definitely talk about how their model shifted from muling the stuff themselves to formally buying it (but unlike the other store, at presumably full retail) and reselling for an extra $10 a four pack or whatever. I'm too lazy to search though for that, but I am sure one of the LI residents from that general area could comment on it better than I can.
I guess OH just does not care, I presume because they buy at full or near full retail price. Generally, I assume most NYC liquor stores are not doing that, and the Maryland place is selling at OH prices so they are not. They have enough business it seems like it is a bad idea to continue working with them, but:
    A) Is anyone boycotting OH over it?
    B) Is Ronk Beverage actually unable to sell their stock of (weekly?) beers because of the hate they peddle in?

If both answers are no, then I would assume OH likes $, its easy (heck who knows, LR beverage might even pick up the stuff themselves, which would be even better for OH), and they are not going to stop. What it probably makes a case for is inadequate minority representation in the craft beer industry that small time as LR beverage is, that they are not blackballed by the entire community
Basically, if people don't like it, its sadly going to take a hit to OH's bottom line to matter unless they figure out how to make just as much $$$ without dealing with LR beverage. I would not hold out for OH to make a purely moral/ethical stand, but maybe I am a pessimist.

Also looks like EQ sends stuff there. Then again they have more formal distribution, both by themselves in NY and through distributors in multiple states so the agreement might be different?

If a formal relationship exists and the store is more than just an average consumer, then I'd personally be willing to forego purchasing any OH going forward. There's simply too many great craft breweries out there that, when purchasing a vice like beer, it doesn't make sense not to be judicious and thoughtful with my spending. No judgement towards those who don't feel that this tips the scales for them (well, not a lot of judgement at least...).

My brother just bought Forever Ever and Oh... Dream in a beer store in Potsdam, NY. That's probably the most remote place in NY State.
